Why Some Married Women Cheat

Some married women cheat on their husbands because they feel as if they are missing something within the marriage. From talking with female friends whom I have known over the years, I have surmised that most of the women who choose to cheat on their husbands do so because they are missing the emotional closeness that they once shared with their husband.

While very few of the married women who cheat, choose to cheat because they had a higher sex drive then their husband did. In most marriages, mine included it is the husbands who have a higher sex drive. Well that is what he said anyways, and I sure would have enjoyed it more then once a week, as was our pattern. It became once a week for us and looking back, I now believe that was happening because he was getting it elsewhere.

I could have been one of those married women, who cheat for sex, but I was not, instead I choose to have an emotional affair with a harmless man. He was considered harmless to me as he was married as well and was across the country, it is not like we could have just drove somewhere and spend a few hours together.

What a connection we had, very emotional, but he filled my daydreams and I often wished it was him coming home to me, rather then my own husband. We talked on the computer for months before the telephone calls began, and the cards went thru the mail. I sent his cards and packages to his work, not even imagining what the other officers thought, and he sent them directly to my home.

We enjoyed a nice emotional tie that in some people's eyes was considered cheating but I never slept with him and up until this point, I had never even met him. I went to a gathering of friends in his home state and invited him along and when he showed up, well I thought I was in love. My husband never crossed my mind that night, not even when my friend kissed me, and I so badly wanted to turn my head so the kiss would land on my lips rather then my cheek but I did not, I was scared.

Never had I ever wanted to cheat on my husband before this, but man the temptation was enormous to just do it this one time. We enjoyed our selves so much that night, we laughed with our friends and even spent time alone talking at a quiet booth in a bar in downtown Austin, Texas. When he touched my right hand to reposition it on the pool cue, I thought my arm would fall off because of the tremors that ran up my arm when he touched me.

He was a Texan, with a sweet southern drawn, a good old boy with a heart of gold. He was as sexy as the day was long, and he was so tempting to say the least. He commanded authority and even though not in his police uniform you could tell, he was one that everyone respected. He had my heart doing a marathon many times that night, beating so fast I thought it might break.

I went home that night to the apartment I was staying at with a friend and fell asleep with dreams of seeing my friend whom I was totally in love with at least emotionally. When I woke the next morning, he called and said he had driven the few hours back to him home, because the temptation for him was just as great as it was for me. I am glad he was the stronger of us two that day, for had we met again I would have became on of those cheating wives and he a cheating husband.

It has been six years since I have heard from him, and I still think about him off and on and wonder how he is doing these days. Yes, I was in love, with a man I had a wonderful emotional affair with, call me a cheating wife if you must but that is what I am.
