But what about domestic violence against men?
In our culture especially in the Philippines, women are openly justified to hit men, but when they do, the attacked men were considered as henpeck and, thus, become the object of mockery in the neighborhood.
I have witnessed several instances wherein many "macho" friends or men next doors were physically abused or treated violently by their wives. There were incidents wherein women are throwing objects, bite, slap, kick, or hit with their fists or objects. In some cases, men are threatened by knife or gun, or at the very least, shouting on the very top of their voice. But never have I heard of incident in which a man files a complaint of domestic violence against his wife. The reason behind, maybe, are those men wanted to retain their status symbol as "herculean" type and it's an absolute embarrassment to divulge his sad fate in public. Or maybe men who had been attacked by their wives thought it was just funny.
The most probable fact is this; there is no law relative to Violence against Men. Is there?
