There are many people who need to have an internet connection available on their laptop wherever they go. The problem that they have is that they will have to pay a great deal of money just get a 3G USB card from a cell phone company. Many people are also looking into 4G internet services but they are very limited range since they are so new. That leaves it to the cost as to determining what you will do.

The Verizon Wireless website has a mobile broadband plan for $59.99. That is pretty much the same as saying $60. On the other hand, you can simply just add the feature on your plan that allows you to use your Smartphone to use 3G tethering. With 3G tethering you can achieve the same download speeds that you would have if you were using a mobile broadband 3G USB adapter. The only real difference with 3G tethering is that you will most likely pay a lot less for the feature. Verizon Wireless offers this service as low as $15 depending on which plan you are currently using for your Smartphone.

Many people complain about the fact that it may not be cheaper by much because of the fact that you have to have a data plan on your phone to get the 3G tethering feature on your plan, but most of the new Smartphones require that you have this data plan regardless if you are going to add the 3G tethering feature or not.

Another good thing about 3G tethering is that the iPhone has recently been able to use the 3G tethering features via USB connection or Bluetooth connection to your Mac or PC according to the Apple website. That means if you own an iPhone you can look into that web page to find out how you can access the internet wherever your iPhone can receive a signal. The Google Android isn't officially supported by software to support internet tethering but internet tethering is still possible if you can follow a few specific steps. You would have to visit the Google Android Blog to activate internet tethering on the Google Android.
