Susan Boyle, What Makes Her so Special?
Why, because she is not at all a very attractive woman. She is rather frumpy and middle-aged.Simon asked her how old she was and when she said she was 47 he just snickered. I actually consider myself middle-aged and I am 59. I am a little long in the tooth to be considered middle-aged and I don't like it very well.
Back to Susan Boyl. Why is everyone so impressed with her? Besides the obvious, which is that, she has the voice of an angel. I think that one of the main reasons is that she had a dream. She has led a life of ridicule and loneliness. She was made fun of and bullied since she was a child. She is a spinster that has never been kissed by her own admission and yet she is living her dream.
I think that especially as we get older, and many of us are living longer, we know that our chances of making our mark in this life are growing slimmer. Even though we may never live our dream the way Susan Boyl is now, it gives us hope. It also makes us want to cheer and shout BRAVO to the little guy. Everyone has been bullied or made fun of at some time in his or her life, and this story just warms our hearts.
Bravo to you Susan Boyl and God Bless You! I am so very happy for you. I hope you go on to enjoy a long profitable joyful career with the talent that God has blessed you with.

I was disappointed she didn't win, but hopefully in the long run she does. She's great.

When I saw her, I thought she was going to be one of those phoney clown-types who just wanted to be on TV. Of course, we know the truth - that she sang amazingly well. Cowell and the others were dumbstruck! However - as to having her dreams fulfilled - this may well prove to be a nightmare. Seldom does being too much in the public eye prove rewarding.
To some extent Susan Boyle has achieved her dream. I just hope tonight will be the big night for her. Then she can do whatever she wants, if it is nothing but record in a studio and make CD's. I wonder what she could do in the operatic venue. A little training and she would have the world at her feet if she choose to. What a grand natural talent she has.
When I saw that first episode with her on it, I was amazed when she opned her mouth and started to sing. It was truly amazing, I got goosebumps.
She is amazing! I loved the looks on the faces of the judges and the audience when she began singing. She really does have the voice of an angel. I taped that segment on Oprah, and it brought tears to my eyes. People are too quick to judge others by looks alone. Susan Boyle is an example of true beauty and an inspiration. Fantastic article.
