Why Make the Switch to Mac from PC?

The Best (and Last) Upgrade You'll Need

Jerry
I hear all about PC users switching over to Mac for many reasons. There are the obvious reasons for software and what not, and there are those that are just die hard fans of Mac. However, how often do you hear of a Mac user switching to PC? Almost never. There is no reason for a Mac user to switch to a PC, as it is a downgrade.

As far as security goes, a monkey could maintain security settings on a Mac. Macs are a very secure, safe computer naturally, and it is nearly impossible to get (or even find) a virus designed to kill a Mac. PC's, on the other hand, are very flawed when it comes to security, and viruses are lurking around every corner of download city. Spyware, ad-aware, viruses, and malware. What other features does Windows offer for its users?

Performance-wise, a Mac absolutely cannot beat per spec. Mac computers tend to not require such high system specifications as a Windows computer does, because the Mac operating system is not nearly as much of a resource hog as its competitor. Very low end computers (at least on the spec table) can perform well with high-end mac operating systems and applications.

It may be the case that applications and programs used to be difficult to find that were compatible with Mac. This, however, is no longer the case as many of the programs that were once available exclusively for the PC platform are now Mac friendly. This is because more people are making the switch to Mac, and rarely will a Mac user ever revert to a PC, simply because of the options and possibilities that a Mac unlocks.

Mac only makes high end computers. There are no Mac computers that are low-end and competing with lots of other computer manufacturers, Mac simply makes the best, because the people that buy Macs are typically loyal customers who will only buy Mac computers anyways. Dell, Hp, IBM, and many other manufacturers of PC's often make very cheap computers with very low performance components in order to compete and sell cheaper computers. These computers are garbage, and are not worth purchasing. Mac however, does not do this, because there is no need to drive down the prices of their own computers in order to compete with other companies.

Another great thing about Macs, surprisingly, is ease of use. There are many PC features that are not only difficult, but that many of your more basic users find impossible and just avoid all together. I have only had my current Mac computer a few days, and I have already discovered that it is not necessary to have a separate program for managing/mounting/burning an ISO file (you simply double click to mount, right click and select burn to make a disc). There are many other options like this that simply make Macs more desirable over the PC.

Aside from performance, applications, and price, there is no argument at which company makes the better looking products. Mac products have always been and looked top of the line. From iPods to the Macbook and Macbook Pro's, these devices are absolutely gorgeous and no PC or competing mp3 device will ever compete as far as physical appearance goes. Macs are very durable computers, and they tend to last a long time, most Mac computers will far outlast its Windows counterparts. This adds further value to your purchase of a Mac computer.

All in all, you will never realize the true benefits of getting a Mac computer unless you make the change for yourself and give it a shot. After a week, I can practically guarantee you that you will not want to deal with a PC ever again.
