Why I Switched to Blujay.com: Don't Pay eBay Fees When You Can List for Free

David Anderson
Over the past mont I made close to 800 dollars in sales on Ebay. It felt good. Of course factor shipping on the items I've sold and that knocks off fifty bucks or so. Still groovey, $750 for very little work. Last week I topped all my past sales when I sold a hundred comics for over $400. As a graduate student I'm hungry for cash, and it was time to cash in my choldhood investments. No time for Peter Parker these days. When I made the sale I was psyched, Ebay was my new superhero!

But later I checked out my fees for the month. Over a hundred bucks! if you figure in other fees, I have shoveled over two hundred dollars into Ebay's pockets in three months, close to an 1/8 of my total take. When you figure in shipping and handling costs, selling on Ebay does not make much sense unless you are a professional making high volume sales. The day of the little seller making nice money is over. More and more you see listings on Ebay bemoaning the increased cost of business. One seller I bought from recently could not afford to use Paypal as payment method anymore due to the second fee it represents.

That is why I switching sides. I'll still buy from Ebay, but running an online business there is self defeating for a small timer like me. I am a Blujay.com member now. They charge no fees to list your items or even open an online store. List as many items as you want, no fee! Four pictures per item, which would run you 45 cents on Ebay, free on Blujay.com.

I am not going to come out and say that you will make sales as fast as you will on Ebay. Blujay.com is relatively new, but it is growing. The small community means less buyers, but it also means less items com competition from other sellers. Your item will get plenty of hits!

The best thing about Blujay.com is that you never have to worry when you list. You are not making a gamble like you do on Ebay. How many times have you set a starting price on Ebay only to knock it down to attract more bids? Depending on what listing method you choose, Ebay can lose you from around a dollar to over fifty dollars every time you fail to make a sale. I don't mind if Blujay sales take a bit longer, I can set my price and stand by it. My item will be there for over a hundred days, free.

Come join! Bring your friends. We can make www.blujay.com as popular as Ebay, and save thousands of people a ton of hard earned cash. You'll find the same great deals at Blujay too! I am not being paid by Blujay to write this, it comes straight from the heart ... okay and the wallet!

So happy to see options for former eBay sellers.

After being on eBay since 1998. I have found Blujay and the another one that is growing is Wazooie. It is free as well and you may have a free store front there too and they are going to be showing up soon in the Google search engines as well. Let's all hope and pray these new sites put a big old hole in Feebay's pockets. Funny this year, they have empty seminars at feebay live but the CEO probably doesn't care cause he wants it "his" way after all of the small sellers are what built it to be what it was before January, 2008, not the big boys.

The listing process is easy and you can automate it by creating one excellent ad as a model and POST COPY to create clones, changing only the details. No bulk lister so copycat drop shipper agents are discouraged from listing as it takes more than an Excel file and stock photos to list thousands of catalog items quickly.

Only certain countries are allowed to have stores which eliminates vendors from places like China from posting cheap knock-offs with huge shipping fees.

I took my store off of Ebay and re-opened it on Ecrater.com. The plan was to only do auctions on Ebay every now and then. Now, Ebay has raised to fees for auction listings too. So, I am concentrating my efforts on my new store.

I'm so glad you shared this site! I'm a student as well and selling on Ebay is not near as profitable as it should be. Thanks!
