Why Tears Can Be so Special

Willoughby Wishes!

Dan Reveal
Put your last quarter in that metal machine,
and the little plastic bubble will offer you a new joy.
I'll be home early, so make sure your bed is made,
and we'll go shopping for a brand new toy.

You can like your friends in many different ways,
although you still love them all the same.
With what little strength you have left after a hard day,
you can join in the ongoing checkerboard game.

And that's why tears can be so special,
once you decide to let love be what it's meant to be.
For just this one day rejoice in the idea that you're only human,
while you're bringing out the very best of what lives in me.

It was me who left the candy for you to wake up and find,
now that you're waiting for love to come and find you.
When it's time to pull down the shade, I'll read you a story--
the one about knights and queens and Willoughby wishes that come true.

The story about Willoughby wishes that come true.

And that's why tears can be so special,
once you decide to let love be what it's meant to be.
For just this one day rejoice in the thought that you're only human,
while you're bringing out the very best of what lives in me.

[For my wishing well Willoughby friend.....]

Such a lovely song I can hear the refrain being softly played off the piano as a saxophone does the back-up...your poetry contains so much music within your creative words!
