Why Thanksgiving is My Favourite Holiday

James R. Ford
It goes beyond the Pilgrims, Plimouth Rock, and Squanto. You see, it's all about the food.
And lots of it.
Turkey, fixings, and pie. Lots of it.
I find it is always better to cook your own turkey. That way you have leftovers.
It's all about the leftovers.
A great holiday in that you do not have to buy anything...for anybody. Period.
No cards, no gifts.
And then there is the food. Lots of it.

My day always starts watching the MACY'S Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC.
Lots of floats, lots of bands, lots of larger than life balloons.
Santa Claus tops off the parade's end by appearing for the last time until Christmas Eve.
Ah, Santa.
Then there's the Radio City Rockettes. Beautiful girls with beautiful legs dancing.

As the day progresses, football fills the small screen with contests hosted by the Detroit Lions and then the Dallas Cowboys.

Did I mention the food. Lots of it.

Have a happy Thanksgiving...and save me some pie (blueberry or apple). Lots of it.

LOL I dislike Thanksgiving, personally but these are great reasons to like it, I guess!
