Little did I know that he spoke the truth, and indeed, TIVO did change my life. I know that the latest researchers have suggested that both old and young alike have succumb to extended hours watching television, which they claim is eroding the American family and the leading cause of obesity Whether it be sports, soaps, or the latest CSI knock-off we find ourselves planted in front of the high definition big screen playing back the many favorites we have 'TIVO'ed. I for one feel just the opposite. I can record my favorites and when I have time to play them back I can fast-forward past the commercials which actually lessens the time I am viewing.
My favorite feature, that is exclusive to TIVO, is the 'Season Pass Manager'. This nifty option lets you select a show and obtain a season pass which sets up recording in advance for any future episode of that show. You have the option of first runs only or repeats of the show and for live performances you can add-on recording time just in case the program goes into overtime or it is pre-empted by an important news story.
TIVO Inc. was just awarded the patent for the Season Pass Manager Technology. The patent actually covers the technology that lets the programming requests be given hierarchy of importance just in case your desired programming runs at the same time or overlaps with another of your favorites.
Another new feature coming soon to TIVO is the ability to tell the recording device to record the program only, and skip the commercials. Something us TIVO'ers, that love to record to disk, have wished for since TIVO's inception.
If you are fortunate enough to have more than one TIVO and they are wireless then you can view recorded shows, not just from one TIVO, but from any of the TIVO's around the house. So as I am working in the house, or cleaning in the house, or just relaxing in the house and want to watch or listen to my favorite shows TIVO gives me this ability. It no longer matters what show is on at what time.
No matter what type of television viewer you may be the TIVO will enhance your life and change it forever.
