Why Should I Use United Parcel Service to Ship Packages?

I have lived in my home for five years. Since the first month I have lived here, I have had trouble with UPS not being able to find my home. They will claim the address is wrong, yet our mail gets delivered, newspapers, DHL and FedEx can find us as well as the pizza delivery driver. Supposedly, the "apartment" number is wrong. That's odd, since it is not an apartment complex. We have Lot numbers for our "Homes", and yes, they are homes, albeit Manufactured Homes, but homes. The space numbers are clearly marked on the map at the entrance of the community, and each home has the number clearly marked on the front facing the street. To add to it, there are a total of 150 homes in my community, on a grand total of THREE (3) Roads. The roads are only a half mile long each. How difficult can this possibly be? Then, they tell me that the unit number is wrong, and when the package arrives at last, it has the correct number on the package. What is with these people? Do they hire people who can't read? Or, is it just they do not care?

If I ever need to send something out, I will NOT use UPS. I will use the post office first. Then DHL to ship packages too big for the Postal Service. UPS has shown exactly how inept they really are.

UPS does not care what our opinion of them is. As far as they are concerned, they are the only game in town. I think it is time we all start to use other services. The only way to let UPS know how we feel is to hit them where they will feel it. Calling and complaining falls on deaf ears. I see UPS' complaint department as the equivalent of the bank commercials where the "Bank Officer" flicks the "Little Guy" across the desk and laughs. We are the "Little Guy" and UPS thinks they are the Bank Officer.

Of the four Shipping Labels on the package when it arrived today, the lot number was on ALL of them. Plain as day. So much for it wasn't listed or it was wrong. Calling and complaining will do no good, as they do not care. They have such a large customer base, they don't need all us little people. My question is, where would 'Big Brown' be without us? What would happen if, because of the consistently poor service, other companies got the business that UPS has been getting? Would they then take a look to see why they are failing? Or would they continue to not care, as they do now?

First of all I am sorry you had trouble with UPS, but I think whoever was delivering the packages was probably a moron if they had trouble finding your house. UPS has a very high delivery success rate, even higher than the postal service.

Strange - I feel the same way about the USPS.
