The mall has stores for everyone. I believe there are over three hundred stores. They have many American stores and some local stores as well. They range from inexpensive to very expensive. They also have many kiosks as well. Some days you can go to the mall and they will have tables set up with people selling crafts and antiques. At the mall you can visit the worlds largest JC Penney, which is four stories high.
When you gat to the mall you may see it's official logo at an entrance. The logo has three sails with crosses in them. These represent the three ships of Christopher Columbus (Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria).
This is a wonderful mall for tourists to visit. Aside from all of the amazing stores, many people speak English. Not everyone will speak the language. However, pretty much any place you stop in the mall someone will speak English. If they are not totally fluent they will probably speak enough to help you out or direct you to someone who is fluent.
The mall is very very big. There is a lot of parking at the mall, including several parking spaces. On weekends and holidays it may be a little difficult to find a parking space, but they are there.
Plaza Las Americas also has a movie theater, Caribbean Cinemas. Here you can see a lot of great new releases. Many of them are in English, although they may have Spanish subtitles. The mall also has a new bowling alley, Galaxy Lanes.
After doing some research I discovered that Plaza Las Americas actually opened on April 12, 1968, as a one story mall. The mall has since undergone several expansions and renovations, making it the mall it is today. When you visit the mall you have no idea that it is as old as it is. It looks brand new!
