Bridal Veil Falls
Located just a couple miles up the canyon, Bridal Veil Falls are breathtaking waterfalls with foaming water that falls off of two levels and ends up in a pool that merges with the Provo River. They are a favorite of Provo Canyon visitors. You can view the falls from a scenic overlook just off of the highway, or by taking the Bridal Veil Falls exit, where you can explore area where the falls and the Provo River meet. There is a small, cold swimming hole at the base that you can enjoy if you're really brave. If you look around the brush, you will also find a dirt path that you can follow up the mountain for a closer look at the falls. There are also several trailheads that you can start that will lead you all around the mountainside. The falls are not only a summer attraction, but a winter one as well. During the winter the falls freeze into a breathtaking icefall, called the Stiarway to Heaven, that is the favorite of ice climbers and sightseers alike.
Cascade Springs
Cascade Springs is a beautiful area with many pools and small falls located just up the Provo Canyon. Usually associated with American Fork Canyon, it is at the end of the beautiful Alpine Loop on the Provo side. The springs offer breathtaking scenes with tranquil streams and beautiful foliage. Boardwalks and walking paths were created so that visitors can walk over the water and peer into its clear depths at the trout and watery vegitation. The plantlife includes groves of aspen trees, oak trees, wildflowers, and various other species, which the park rangers have taken the time to lable with signs as you walk around the looping paths. Cascade Springs is a beautiful, peaceful location for anyone who is looking to get away.
Heber Valley Railroad
With a station located in Vivian Park, the Heber Valley Railroad is a turn of the century, antique steam train that travels into the Heber Valley from Provo Canyon and back. The train winds its way through the canyon, offering beautiful views that you just can't get anywhere else. The pricing for the trains vary with the season and activities being provided. For a fun time and a little bit of history, you shouldn't miss the Heber Valley Railroad.
Deer Creek State Park
Located at the end of the scenic Provo Canyon, Deer Creek Resevoir is a great place for those who love water. It's a great place for water sports of all kinds as you skip through the clear waters. If you're not into water sports, it's still a great place to just pull over and relax in the sun and take a quick swim. There is also a resturaunt and locations to rent boats and skiing equipment.
