All right, I'll admit it, I've been the environmentally challenged voting kid for a number of years now. But recently I was asked what I know about John McCain. I honestly couldn't tell you anything, except that he is pro-life and he is a conservative Republican. However, tonight I asked my dad exactly why we were going to vote for John McCain. These are some of the answers he gave:
John McCain is:
1.) Against Abortion
2.) Conservative Republican
3.) When nominated for the Supreme Court he said he would be constitutionally conservative. (Meaning he will do his very best to interpret the constitution correctly.)
Some cons of McCain is that he was a little "wish washy" or weak in some of the things that he believed in. Also, he is older than Obama- but I'm not sure that is a very valid reason that he shouldn't be able to win.
Obama, on the other hand, has several cons against him, though his only pro is that he is a somewhat eloquent speaker, making it easy for people to want to believe him.
However here is a list of some of his cons:
1.) He is very pro-abortion- While also being nominated for the Supreme Court, Obama made the statement that all of his judges would be pro-abortion. He
even refused a bill that would protect babies that survived the aftermath an abortion attempt. John McCain supported this bill
2.) He is a liberal democrat- I know this is only in his history- but in the past he was friends with US anarchist.
3.) Change- That's all he ever talks about, but seriously, that's the only thing that comes out of his mouth. As one answer said on yahoo answers, "What does that mean?" He is not exactly clear in this.

4.) Does not support that marriage should be between a man and a woman solely.
Not in anyway am I trying to persuade you on whom to vote for, but I am just giving some things to think about for this next election. I've tried to give you both pros and cons of both candidates to help you in our quest to decide who to vote for. I hope everyone decides accordingly.

Post a CommentDenise- I should have tried to find some more pros towards Obama- but given the fact that I have watched the debates and based on what my family and I believe, I have come to the decision that Obama is not good- and that is not racist, but it is a political opinion in which I am entitled to here on this site or any site.
I can assure though, that this article is not meant to be racist. Purely political. My political opinions of both candidates.
You did not, or could not finish your sentence.
"It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasize"
Maybe so, but based on watching these debates and other circumstances, I have come to the conclusion that there are no positives in one particular candidate, in which again, I am entitled to my political opinion. That which we all are. So, thank you for sharing your particular views. It is interesting to hear the different opinions of different voters, especially for this election, since
Thats stupid to Say ....I know Exactly why i am voting for OBAMA.
What if John McCain were a former president of the Harvard Law Review?
What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?
What if McCain were still married to the first woman he said 'I do' to?
What if Obama were the candidate who left his first wife after she no
longer measured up to his standards?
What if Michelle Obama were a wife who not only became addicted to
pain killers, but acquired them illegally through her charitable
organization?
What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?
What if Obama were a member of the Keating-5?
What if McCain were a charismatic, eloquent speaker?
If these questions were seriously confronted, do you really believe
the election numbers would be anywhere near as close as they are?
This is what racism or anti-intellectualism and fear accomplishes. It
covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one
candidate and emphasize
I guess I should have tied the article in to why I believe that as well. but really, I guess it turned into more of a comparitve article . I could have written it better. :)
sorry- i don't know why I wrote no. ha ha
Ok- while I have asked my dad his opinion- I value his opinions and can make my own as well. I have been keeping up with the convention news on both sides and feel the same, judging which either side is saying. I wonder if you have watched any of it yourself. Sometimes I just need help understanding some things, in which case I'm sure you would understand. I'm sure that you feel the same beliefs as the environment you grew up in as well. - I could say the same to people on the other side- please stop sounding so close-minded (as non-believers or whatever). It goes both ways. People are entitled to their own opinions- and I beg you to allow people that freedom. Democrats and Republicans should be working more towards unity than drifting apart from each other.
As for the change- are we sure that's the kind of change that we want?
I'm not really new to being in political debates and all, so please be kind of nice to me. :) This article was written as an opinion- no
"tonight I asked my dad exactly why we were going to vote for John McCain. These are some of the answers he gave:"
I think that if you are old enough to vote you are old enough to do your own research and vote based on who you think could improve our nation instead of just going by what your daddy tells you.
Get to know both candidates.
Oh and stop sounded like a closed minded christian.
I believe Obama not onl;y speaks change, he owns it. Look at how much he has already changed America. He is sheer genius. He is a very persuading man. I belive he posses the power to change a lot, and that a lot of Americans are realizing that. America needs a CHANGe as Obama would call it. If we don't get a major one, and soon. this country as we know it will completely unravel.
sort of seems to water down the fact that he says he believes in marriage between a man and a woman. Just my thoughts, though.
But if we allow civil unions, does that make marriage a necessary act? Or rather, does it lessen the application of marriage as we know it? here's a debate between Alan Keys and Barack Obama at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGOXJI-fZmQ
Listen to what Alan Keys has to say about it at the very end.
