Ghost Hunters is a reality series that follows Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson along with the rest of the Atlantic Paranormal Society or TAPS, as they are known. Each episode you are brought along to experience a real paranormal investigation. TAPS does things a little differently than some of the popular ghost hunting shows on cable. TAPS does not go into a supposed haunted location and automatically assume that the activity and occurrences are of a paranormal nature. Instead the members of TAPS go in with the intention of debunking the claims and finding rational explanations for the things that go bump in the night. These ghost hunters are true professionals using state of the art equipment and techniques, they would never rely on phony psychics and easily spooked, screaming hosts to determine if a location is really haunted. Many times on an investigation the TAPS team is able to dismiss many claims and provide answers to scared homeowners and employees. On the other hand sometimes the investigators find evidence that there is indeed something paranormal going on in a location. These times are of course the most exciting and often are chilling and leave you on the edge of your seat. The crew often catches strange images on their thermal imagining cameras and video cameras as well as catching eerie disembodied voices and sounds on recording equipment.
Ghost Hunters is really one of the best reality type shows out there and if you give it a try you will see why fans of the show never miss an episode. Not only is the show fantastic but also the stars of the show are all very down to Earth and friendly people. I met Jason and Grant the founders of TAPS last year and I was most impressed by how there success seems to still be a surprise to them. Rumor has it we are in for a few great episodes as well as another live Halloween special, which will be filmed at the famous Waverly Hills Sanatorium, a place well known to the paranormal community as a hot bed of activity. One member of the crew who will be absent from the Halloween special is controversial TAPS member Brian Harnois. Brian has recently left TAPS to strike out with his own projects. For some this news will be welcome but others of us will miss his goofy antics and the special kind of drama Brian brought to the show. Other members have been rumored to have also moved on from TAPS but as far as I know this was just speculation.
