Why You Should Watch the New Moon Trailer RIGHT NOW

Why I'm Excited About November 20th

"Oh no, you're not picking THAT up, are you?" I remember clearly the ridicule heard from one of my best friends as I picked up the paperback copy of Stephanie Meyer's 'Twilight' that I would later come to love and re-read a couple of times before moving on to her next book in the series. There was just something about her telling of a regular high school girl falling in love with a vampire that really struck a chord with me. And at first, even I was skeptical...I usually don't follow the crowds with my book choices, and this was no exception. But after a few years of hearing about the pandemonium that is Twilight, I decided to check it out.

So it came with great surprise when I got hooked and reeled in quite hard. The story of Bella and Edward was believable, and by the end of the first book, I was rooting for their love to survive. I fell in love with Alice and wished she were my best friend, and I was really more interested in finding out what Jacob's deal was.

Of course since I blew through all four books in a matter of months this past year, I had to see what the movie was like. I just about finished the last book as Twilight the movie was being released on DVD. I'll be honest and admit that the first time I watched the movie, I disliked it. I liked the actors, but knew in my heart that it couldn't compare to the book. Yet I found myself watching the movie over and over again until I found myself actually loving it more each time.

Now, with the release of New Moon around the corner (November 20, 2009 - don't forget!), I'm getting so excited it's ridiculous and a little embarrassing. But millions of fans can't be wrong, I'm thinking. The newest trailer was just released this past weekend at the MTV Video Music Awards, and watching it gave me the biggest goosebumps. The trailer opens with a red-eyed Dakota Fanning as Jane walking through a door to meet with the rest of the Volturi clan, and we hear Edward (Robert Pattinson) explain how they are the closest thing to royalty vampires have in their world. It's a long but fast-paced trailer that has fans on the edges of theirs seats. We get to catch a glimpse at the Volturi clan and the new wolf pack that Bella (Kristen Stewart) meets in this part of her journey. We see some amazing special effects with Bella seeing Edward everywhere, and the climactic drowning scene, which leaves us fans wanting so much more. Jacob's (Taylor Lautner) amazing shorter haircut and wolf-phasing abilities look stellar, and it looks like there's plenty of eye candy for the ladies with Edward and Jacob both showing off their abs.

But the best part? I get chills when Jane coldly and quietly states, "This might hurt just a little" at the end of the trailer.
