But, no Libya is more about a mathematical equation.
Think about it, all of a sudden we "have to get Gadhaffi? Why now? Bush wanted to be buddies with Moammar, All these bad Guys were set up decades ago in one coup or another, and we are now seeing them being replaced. one by one. Sadaam, Mubarak, Gadhaffi, > Not saying "the people" of these countries didn't need help> They did long ago> Just saying look at history ...and ask how did all these "Bad" guys come to power> And then stay FOR DECADES. Today the Jewish still lament the loss of Mubarak, Sadaam in the eighties was awarded so many honors for all the hospitals schools and infrastructral improvements he made> It's okay to clean up your mess, but it's The innocent people who pay the price. Remember all the bunker buster bombs in search of Sadaam? All the innocent lives lost and collateral damage? Things are wrong in the world on just so many levels.
We have plenty of dictators that have been far more deserving of our wrath in the past than Gadhaffi, can you say North Korea? China? Why did we do nothing in Egypt? What about Bahrain, Yemen, Syria? It's all about do what we want, and we ignore what you do. For example all Kim Jong Il, all he has to do is not bomb South Korea, and we leave him alone, no matter what videos and stories make it out alive from within that country's borders.
So what does Gadhaffi have that we want that he did not give up? Money, lots of it. All of it. Ka ching.
Without congressional Okay or so much as a by your leave we are in yet another war, guaranteed to last for at least 60 days, then maybe another 30 to discuss it, so 90 days total, and theoretically it should be financially rewarding.
It has been openly discussed "who is going to pay for this war?" did we hear that before we saved France from the Germans? Was it discussed before we got into Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan? No> Why Libya, with so few actual "rebels" to save ? No Government organization waiting to take over whatsoever? Why not Yemen or Bahrain? or SYria?
Because of Gadhaffi's big frozen bank accounts.
Our military is paid regardless, those ships are on the water no matter where they are, and those Tomahawk cruise missiles?
Well those Tomahawk Missiles that have just been sitting in storage, were bought and paid for in a time of balanced budgets past. Built at a cost of over a million dollars each. If anyone is keeping tabs, and the funds come from Libyan Bank accounts they may not have much left for rebuilding.
Look at at it this way, with each launch, ka-ching! President Obama is refilling the pilfered coffers of America. How many trillions in debt are we? How much money does Gadhaffi have? I don't think we have enough missiles to balance the budget, but should make a dent in it, on paper anyway.
Blood diamonds, oil for blood, blood money all the same in the world of war and politics> it's all business at the top.
Heck what else we got tucked away, any leftover Patriot Scuds we can get rid of over there at cost?
