Why We Wish Kimsha Artest Had Stayed on "Basketball Wives LA"

We can't help but wonder what "Basketball Wives LA" would have been like if Kimsha Artest and Tanya Williams had remained on the show. It was pretty easy to see that Tanya was going to be the most easy-going - ergo not dramatic enough to keep viewers tuned in. But Kimsha, on the other hand is an entirely different story. As the episodes of the hit reality series have gathered behind us, we can easily see that there indeed was a void on "Basketball Wives LA." And her name is Kimsha Artest. Here's why she should have been an active participant all season long.

The Glamour Factor

In this season's opener, Kimsha waxes poetic about being glamorous. You can tell immediately that she's not quite like the other women --- that is, she doesn't feel like a slave to beauty. She admits that there's nothing wrong with things like nice handbags and hair weaves; it just isn't a big part of her lifestyle. She's fabulous in her own way, and tells us so in those exact words. Seeing Kimsha throughout the season might have reminded women everywhere that there are different kinds of beauty in the world.

She's actually a wife.

You've also got to give it up to her for actually being a wife. Sure we've got Jackie and Doug. But audiences (and the other ladies) aren't too certain that Jackie is as secure as she purports. Kimsha doesn't feel compelled to renew her vows every year to confirm that her marriage is going strong. Nothing is perfect. And we'll never really know what goes on behind closed doors. Having at least one wife on the show that seems very in touch with reality would have been quite refreshing.

No Drama

Surprise surprise! Kimsha makes a guest appearance on the season finale of the show. In the sneak peek we see that she's having a little chat with Jackie. Jackie gives her the rundown on everything that's happened, especially the big blowout in Hawaii. The expression of horror on Kimsha's face is simply priceless. Horrified, because she can't believe the convoluted and juvenile mess that this entire season has become. It's at this moment, that we understand how happy Kimsha is to have avoided being in the middle of this grown-up sandbox.

On the Other Hand, if Need Be…

But if you did happen to get trapped by a pair of bullies in the sandbox, Kimsha is probably the kid you'd want to have your back. In other words: she takes no stuff. She gives the impression that if you indeed ever crossed her, you would be sorry. Unfortunately for the ratings, she wasn't interested in wasting her time tossing many drinks (or fists) around.
