Why is Work so Hard?

Why is it when you only have high school diploma the door is open for you at a lot of places and then it seems once you graduate to higher learning the choices become slimmer and slimmer?

As in my case once I got my degree all the employers either said I had too much experience to work for them or that I haven't worked in the field long enough... Double-Edged Sword I believe so...

On one hand the employer wants you to have many years of experience on the job before they'll hire you, and this is the case with many employers, but what I believe they don't understand is this: How can I get the experience you desire if no one will hire me in order to get the amount of experience most employers want? This is a question that goes through my mind EVERY time I look for a job when the unfortunate happens.

On the other hand some employers want you to have almost no experience and when you interview for the job they tell you that you have way to much experience for the job that they are offering. Even when you state to them that you are willing to do more for less and that you view this job as a great learning experience, they give you that old line, "We'll give you a call"... and surprise, surprise that call never comes through and you are left waiting for something that will never be.

Tell me is this right? Am I just crazy or is this not the most stupid thing you've heard from a prospective employer? Its things like this that really pisses me off!
