Why is the World Silent on Christian Persecution?

See No Evil, Hear No Evil

Damare Garang, a seven year old slave boy in Sudan, was "crucified" on a board and left for dead by his Islamic owner for sneaking away to attend a church service. As they walked to their Christian High School in Indonesia, Noviana Malewa and her teenage classmates were attacked by Islamic jihadists with machetes, who decapitated three of the girls leaving their heads on the steps of a church. Only Noviana survived, bearing a scar across her face and neck as a gruesome reminder of the attack.

Christian persecution is not a topic that is widely covered on the front page of newspapers, let alone the evening news. The world seems to care more about a lost pod of whales stuck on a sea shore than the fate of "troublesome" Christians, though this reaction towards Christian persecution should not be surprising. Jesus forewarned, "If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." (John 15:18-19?). Since the time of Christ, Christians have been persecuted for their faith. These attacks on Christians shall not cease until the return of Christ, for Satan, the god of this world utilizes mankind to carry out the most heinous atrocities against those who dare call themselves a follower of Jesus Christ.

According to the Bible, Stephen was the first Christian martyr. The events of his death are recorded in the book of Acts. Apostle Paul, then called Saul, was present at the scene of Stephen's death believed that he was doing God a service by condoning Stephen's death. However, what Satan meant for evil God meant for good and Apostle Paul went on to become one of the most influential authors of the Bible. From the Roman Empire to the Crusades, history shows a trend in Christian persecution, and now the world is heading toward a resurgence of ostracizing and attacking Christians. Why is that? What are the Christians doing to illicit such behavior from society? Apostle John contends, "For all that is in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not of the Father but is of the world (1st John 2:16)." The sin, which the world glorifies (sex, power, money, etc.), draws society away from God. As a result people become worldly and vehemently try to force God out of life's equation, whereas Christians are constantly putting God in the equation.

One of the most obvious reasons the world persecutes Christians is because the Christian way of life is a constant reminder of their sinful lifestyle. Christians unwittingly provide a stark reflection to mankind, by which many do not wish to look in the mirror at the reflection of their sinful lifestyle. The sin that binds a sinner eventually drowns out the God-given conscience. The conscience nudges one towards a relationship with the Lord, but what happens when one continues to ignore the conscience? Sin becomes easier and a full progression is made not to obey God. Consequently, one becomes of the world and begins to hate God and all that he stands for.

More so, Christians proudly proclaim to represent Jesus Christ, the Son of God...thus a united worldly front in the persecution of Christians. From China, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Afghanistan, to the Palestinian territories, Christians are being persecuted. The Dakes Annotated Bible references numerous scriptures on why the world hates Christians:

The world hates reproof. (John 3:19)

The world evils are exposed by Christian living. (Romans 12:2)

The world darkness is exposed by Christians light. (John 3:19)

The world is blind. (2 Cor. 4:4)

Christians are not of the world. (John 15:19)

The world is at war with Christians. (Jn 16:33, Eph. 6:12, 1st Jn. 5:4)

Christians hate the world ways. (1st John 2:15-17)

The world is ignorant of Christian experience. (Galatians 2:20)

Damare was rescued by a stranger who found him nailed to the board and soldiers saved Noviana from her brutal attackers. Both were cruelly traumatized for simply being a Christian, yet their spirits remain strong in Jesus Christ. We must remember Satan knows he was defeated at Calvary and has used the time he has left in this earthly domain to persecute those who love the Creator he turned against and chose not to obey. For a follower of Christ, it may seem like a daunting future ahead, there is another round of world persecution awaiting Christians in the near future. According to Revelations (20:4), many Christians will be beheaded for their witness to Jesus Christ and for the Word of God. Apostle John gave Christians warm and encouraging words regarding our victory over the world, "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith." During perilous times, hold tight to your faith and remember the victory in Christ.

this is a true story and has been all over the news recently. besides, the Christian news media that has covered it thoroughly checks their sources for validity, accurancy, and truth. in every one of the instances cited in the article, the criminals were actually charged with crimes.
To get that to happen in a muslim country is saying a great deal. So, your response to this article is meaningless and pointless.

Excellent and well-supported with facts from the Bible.
Muslims and Hindus have been persecuting and murdering Christians for decades with near zero coverage by the press in the Western world. Hollywood captitalizes on stories about the little guy. Why doesn't someone make a movie about Muslims murdering innocent, defenseless women and children who are Christians in nearly 30 Muslim and Hindu countries - where there is supposed to be 'religious freedom'?

The U.S. government continues to trade with countries like China who has one of the worst human rights records in the world. Many of the persecuted are Christians who are murdered, beaten, or persecuted and given long prison sentences for expressing their right of freedom of religion.

These are our brothers and sisters in Christ and we should lend a helping hand through organizations like Voice of the Martyrs (persecutedchurch.org). We have it so good in this country but don't fool yourself. We could be looking at loss of reli

Some people might want to do some research on ISLAM, yes that's right.....all those Christians and Jews in the middle east were pretty much wiped out with their false, delusional prophet Mohammed who went forth and killed Jews and Christians starting in 610AD. They conquered the entire middle east!!!! Then those idiotic Muslim Turks kept invading Europe to control those lands as well. Thank goodness for someone like Vlad "Dracul" Tsepesh who stopped them before they advanced further. Research history Danye! Also check out the history in France too!

Another thing...it won't be long and you will have to submit to Islam because their goal is to rule the ENTIRE WORLD and force people to convert.

you need to check out sources you use before posting them. Neither of those are reliable and are seriously biased and have been proven to be. There is also the other thing that Christians are just as guilty of doing what you say as those you profess are doing it to them. It comes down to the pot calling the kettle black!
