Why I Write for Associated Content

When people ask why I write for Associated Content, I have yet to arrive at a one-size-fits-all answer. Lately, this question has been a hot topic of conversation because I know many people looking for ways to earn extra income. The first thing I recommend is to become a Contributor for AC.

There are many reasons I write for Associated Content. It is hard to condense everything into an elevator speech. Although I don't publish nearly as often as I would like, I enjoy the AC format because it allows me to be me. I can write about anything I want, whenever I want and earn money from it.

If you were to review my AC profile, you might be shocked to see that I have only published 151 articles since April 11, 2005. That is miniscule compared to some of the big players here. However, those few articles have netted me a Clout 10 rating and a Top 1000 badge. To top it off, I was recently accepted as a Community Guide.

I don't say these things to brag. It's more to say, if it can happen to me, it can happen to you. The primary reason I do not write often for Associated Content stems from the fact that because of AC I am too busy with freelance work.

I have met amazing writers at Associated Content. People I would never had access to without this platform. I've met many friends and business associates here. Contributors have sent work my way and vice versa. I have found many paid writing opportunities in the AC forum. What other writing platform do you know of that offers a dedicated section for "Other Online Writing Gigs"?

In my opinion, Michy IS Associated Content. She has paved the way for many newbie and seasoned Contributors and has been instrumental in making AC a better place for everyone. Her feisty "get 'er done" attitude is admirable and effective. Thanks Michy!

AC Contributor, Ryanick Paige was a lifesaver while I was caring for my terminally-ill mother last year. I met Ryanick through the AC forum. There was "Subscriber for Subscriber" thread that stirred up a bit of controversy and the group was knighted by some community members as the "knitting circle". She and I had similar experiences and if it weren't for her friendship during an exceptionally difficult time, I think I would have had a complete emotional breakdown.

There are many others, but it would take a book for me to acknowledge everyone I have met along the way. I certainly do not mean to slight anyone. Instead, I hope this allows others to see that real people exist here. Friendships can be cultured, business deals can be made, and additional writing opportunities can be found at Associated Content.

Associated Content's forum offers a wealth of information. Although Contributors sometimes go off-topic and the occasional flame-war takes place, the community forum is a wonderful place to meet new people, socialize with old-timers, and learn new tricks of the writing trade. It also offers plenty of opportunities for laughter and learning.

Last, but not least, Associated Content provides a platform for me to showcase my articles. I purchased the domain of www.KathyBrowning.com and redirected it to my AC profile. This is a simple and effective way to attract new clients.

Associated Content has given me the opportunity to learn, grow, meet new people, foster friendships, obtain new clients and earn residual income. Although AC has experienced its fair share of growing pains over the years, it is the place that allowed me the freedom to become the writer I had always dreamed of being.

Perhaps this article has helped me determine why I write for Associated Content. In a nutshell, it allows me the freedom to express myself, earn money, interact with others and learn how to improve my writing skills. Life doesn't get much better than that!
