Why Yellow is the Must Have Color

Yellow is the New Black

Eve
Why is yellow so important in your fashion wardrobe? Spring and Summer beckons to us as we store away those wool sweaters and trade them for softer, and more form fitting clothing in bright colors. This year there is a lot of discussion about saving money and trying not to spend over the budget. The reason why you should grab a couple of key pieces in the yellow family is because it is the "new" pink. Okay just kidding its really the "new " black (although I am tempted to put "lol" here you could figure I text too much).

Why is yellow the "new" black ? Because it goes with everything. Lets say for example you have a fierce bright yellow skirt (check out Old Navy they have the cutest one I've seen.). If you are not tan wear yellow away from your face. This color could wash you out or make you look sick so please follow this guide and I will help you be fashion forward and smart. Next think about what color top to wear with a really bright yellow skirt. Lets see : Orange- wear Orange in a true orange shade (not coral). This is a great color combination for Summer. Green- wear a bright emerald green jacket with your yellow shirt or skirt. Blue -ahhh you can choose aqua or navy (these are my favorite combinations). Red- can work as long as it's a bright cherry toned red.

You should begin to see a pattern here now: steer away from "muddy" tones and save them for winter and fall. Yellow looks amazing when it contrasts with colors that are bright, juicy and pop! Bright lime green can look awesome if you can wear that color. Most darker complexions look awesome in lime green.

Use Caution when choosing pink and purple. Do not pair a pastel pink with your yellow unless you want to look like a one woman Easter parade. Choose hot magenta or neon pink. Purple should not be in a plum shade. Go for a bright lavender, I don't recommend going with purple if you can help it. If you love purple be sure to choose one with a pinkish tone to it do not go for a deep purple unless it's a royal purple then the navy idea can apply.

There you have it,. Anything you would not pair with black (like off tones and earthy colors like dark green and brick reds ) you should not pair with a bright yellow piece. Go bright and bold and in case you aren't certain, know any jewel tone will look absolutely amazing with yellow.

Oh, and yes this applies to accessories as well.
