The spherical shape of the crystal ball is symbolic of the Goddess as are all circles and spheres. It should also be cold to the touch which makes it a symbol of the ocean, the domain of the Wiccan Goddess. If the crystal sphere is not cold to the touch, it may not be made of genuine quartz.
There are many imitation crystal spheres on the market today which are made of glass or plastic. If you are in the market for a crystal sphere as one of your Wiccan ritual tools, make sure you purchase high quality quartz crystal. Imitation crystal will not have the same affect in magic as a real crystal sphere.
If you are lucky enough to own a crystal sphere, know that it is a divine object and should only be used for Wiccan ritual and magical purposes. It can be used for scrying, to recall past lives or see images of the God and Goddess. The crystal sphere can also be used to receive divine messages from the God and Goddess. It is truly a magical object and so it should be honored as such.
The crystal sphere is often the center of full moon Wiccan rituals because of its ability to absorb the moonlight and because of its likeness to the full moon. Exposing the crystal sphere to moonlight is a good way to increase its power. You may also try rubbing it with Mugwort to accomplish the same goal or use both of these methods in conjunction.
A real quartz crystal sphere can be very hard to find and even more expensive if you do locate one. A small one may be more affordable for most people and a larger crystal sphere can sell for over a thousand dollars. If you have your heart set on using a crystal sphere in Wiccan ritual and magic, choose carefully and make sure to buy an authentic quartz sphere.
The crystal sphere should be properly consecrated prior to use in Wiccan ritual and magic. Use a published tool consecration ritual or create one of your own. The important thing is to dedicate the crystal sphere as a ritual tool and use it for only Wiccan ritual and magical purposes.
