The aerobic exercises burn the most calories and increase your ability to perform on the wii fit overtime. I believe it is a fun game to lose small amounts of weight and great for those who are limited in their physical activity. However, I would not recommend the wii fit for major weight loss. The exercises have to be done on hard or expert and only burn 100 calories per hour on average.
The balance games are great fun for kids and adults alike. I used it to help develop my daughter's motor skills. I do not feel any improvement on my fitness as a result, but they do help support good posture. Posture is important to your overall health, and it is a good stepping stone to becoming physically fit.
The yoga section is also great for your posture. It has helped cure any muscle aches and stiffness that I previously suffered from. It will increase your flexibility over time. It will also help tone certain muscle groups when done properly. Some of the poses are very easy. It is best to be cautious when doing the harder poses. They can cause injury if not done properly.
The strength training exercises are okay for increasing strength. They are done with no form of resistance. therefore, your results will be minimal. If you can add small hand weights it might improve you're results. The push up and plank exercise is very difficult. It is probably the hardest exercise in the section. It will help develop strength, but sometimes the balance board doesn't properly recognize the movements.
Overall, the Wii fit is great for fun and getting fit. However, it is not a weight loss miracle. Your results will be slow and based upon the amount of body fat in which you burn. It is not affective when compared to normal exercise. However, it is still enjoyable and I recommend it for minor weight loss and improving posture.
