Gone are the days where playing video games involved becoming a mindless couch potato. Wii Fit Plus requires you to get off the couch and get active.
The Wii Fit Plus uses the Wii Balance Board to measure your body mass index, fitness level, balance, mind/body coordination and your Wii Fit age. Wii Fit Plus allows entire families to keep track of their fitness goals and even personalize workouts geared towards whatever area you would like to work on.
When I first observed the Wii Fit Plus and scanned through the menu of fitness areas, I must admit that I felt intimidated. I watched other family members try the different activities and I finally got up the courage to try them.
There is a yoga section with some poses that appear challenging but somehow you feel encouraged to better yourself. Sections like Strength Training and Aerobic activities absolutely made me feel extremely afraid of failure but many of them were so much fun to do, I almost didn't feel like I was working out. The balance games help to improve your posture which is beneficial at any age. There are over 60 games to choose from.
Part of the fun of Wii Fit Plus is the multi player mode which allows family and friends to play games with each other. This is a lot of fun. Our family has already done this several times and the friendly competition urges each of us to practice on our own.
Wii Fit Plus tracks your fitness progress and scolds you for not working out on a daily basis. It shows your improvements in your fitness levels and tracks your weight and bmi. It even tells you how much time you spent working out and allows you to set goals. You also choose a male or female personal trainer who gives you tips and shows you how to do different exercises.
The games on Wii Fit Plus appeal to all ages. From cycling, to hoola hooping to hitting soccer balls, the games are really fun and still remain challenging.
I highly recommend Wii Fit Plus for everyone. It can really help you to get moving and get fit.
