Wii Fit Plus Makes Getting in Shape and Losing Weight Fun

Get on the Balance Board and Get Going!

Nobody At All
Wii Fit Plus is a great way to get into the habit of exercising and weight loss in a convenient and fun way. Let's face it. Some people love exercise and other people don't. Some people have the funds and time to go to a gym and get a personal trainer and other people don't. If you're one of the "other people," Wii Fit Plus is for you.

What is Wii Fit Plus?

Wii Fit Plus is an expanded version of the original Wii Fit which includes more exercise options and programs, and also uses a balance board. The balance board also measures your weight, so you can keep track of your progress every time you use Wii Fit Plus. The program works five basic areas of fitness, each of which you can pick as you desire. These are yoga, strength training, aerobics, balance games and training plus. Training plus includes extra exercises new to Wii Fit.

How does Wii Fit Plus work?

It's easy. You can create a Wii character called a "Mii" or import one you already have from another game. You can check your weight during a "Body Test" which also includes balance and coordination tests. You can then pick a personal trainer (yes, a virtual trainer), and it's off to training. There are many exercises and games to play, and all you need other than a Wii console, a controller and Wii Fit Plus is the Nunchuk controller for some of the exercises.

There are basic demos for most games and exercises. If you do yoga or strength training, your virtual personal trainer will lead you through the exercise. It's like having a real personal trainer that doesn't cost $50 per hour or make fun of you.

When you're done you can go back to Wii Fit "Plaza" and check your progress on a graph. You can even add other activities to your daily exercise log such as doing housework, walking the dog, or going for a jog. The activity log will add on to your Wii Fit Plus training log and keep track of your calorie burn.

Does Wii Fit Plus work?

Your mileage may vary, but in a word, yes. Wii Fit Plus is wonderful. Most of the exercises take up little space, are low impact (important if you have joint issues), and can be taken as little as one minute at a time. You can completely vary your work out every day, and there's no minimum time you have to complete. The exercises are generally quite fun and the personal trainer is helpful and encouraging.

In addition, because it's so easy and fun to use, Wii Fit Plus is something you actually enjoy using and you actually enjoy coming back day after day to exercise. It's also very convenient. Only have fifteen minutes to work out? Turn it on, do your body test, and train for ten minutes in any number of exercises that only take one or two minutes each. You can use it any time day or night and you don't have to drive anywhere or even get into your "gym clothes" if you don't feel like it.

Get it.

I can't be more blunt than that. If you want to get in better shape, lose weight, and have fun doing it at the time and intensity of your choosing without even leaving your living room, Wii Fit Plus is the ultimate tool of choice. I own it and I use it as does my wife. We've used it for about a month and we're losing weight, feeling more energetic, and sleeping better. For the cost of two months at a gym you can do it too.
