Wii Had a Great Time with Alice in Wonderland!

Alice in Wonderland Video Game Review for Nintendo Wii

Raymond A. Rosario
Lately, I have taken a keen interest in regaining my childhood love for video games. I purchased Wii a couple of weeks ago and my spouse and I just can't get away from it now! So, after purchasing and beating the new "Super Mario Bros." game, I decided to get my money's worth and take a trip to Game Stop for some good old fashioned game trading! That was when I saw Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" for Wii, shining like a brand new car on display. I was sucked into this magical world of fantasy and illusion until I realized the guy at the counter was talking to me. Waking from my superhero dreamworld, "Is there anything I can help you with?" I heard the clerk ask. "Yes, yes you can help me, Sir Game Stopper", I replied. Then the fairy tale began!

I then purchased the game with no hesitation, as it was on sale for only $39.99 the first day it came out. I was credited $30.00 for my Super Mario Bros. game so I only put up ten bucks. As soon as I got home, my significant other and I ran to our flat screen for a little wonderland fun! I must admit, I was ecstatic to learn that we were going into co-op mode but that didn't make a difference as far as how stumped we were at the initial point of gaming. First of all, it was very difficult to adjust to the controlling of the game. You need to use both the standard controller as well as the Nunchuk controller. Personally, I prefer to use only one controller when playing, unless I'm kicking some serious zombie booty with the AK-47 on blast! But, either way, it took us at least 45 minutes just to adjust to the games controls and get passed level one!

As the game goes on, the riddles and illusions are a bit challenging, but altogether fun and exciting. I thought the special moves and abilities of the White Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat were very awesome and interesting, especially the white rabbit's ability to stop and control time! But best of all was the Mad Hatter's amazing sense of perspective when solving the game's many puzzles and illusion schemes. I highly do think this game would be enjoyable to anybody who has in interest in adventure/fantasy type of games, especially with the Wii console, given the level of control and user interactivity.

After finding the queen and her castle, fighting off many villains and attaining all the special powers and abilities one could attain, I had a great time and I give the game a thumbs up. Some riddles did have me stumped but after 10 hours of game play and beating the scary dragon, I had a blast and can say I did in fact get my money's worth on this one. The only thing I did not enjoy too much was the all-in-all controlling of the game, though after hours of playing I eventually became use to this and was able to enjoy the gaming experience.

Price: $39.99
Rating: 7 out of 10
ESRB Rating: E 10+

I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to have some fun in the world of "Alice in Wonderland".
