Wii MotionPlus Becoming a Huge Hit

The Wii MotionPlus is already making a big splash in the global market. This is quite an impressive feat considering that the Wii Sports Resort bundle hasn't launch in North America yet. The Wii MotionPlus is the latest must-have accessory for the Nintendo Wii, a system that is built for alternative control. The Nintendo Wii launched in late 2006 and became an overnight phenomenon. This is due largely to the motion capabilities of the Wii Remote, which allows a more accessible and immersive experience to the end user.

Along with the Wii Remote, Nintendo also introduced the Wii Nunchuck attachment. They also launched casing shells with Wii Zapper with Link's Crossbow Training and Wii Wheel with Mario Kart Wii. Another non-significant Wii accessory is Wii Speak, a microphone accessory that launched with Animal Crossing: City.

The next big accessory on the Nintendo Wii would arrive with Wii Fit. Instead of your arms, the main input method with the Wii Balance Board is by using your feet. The accessory can read your weight and balance shifts.

While many were critical of Nintendo with the numerous accessories, the bottom line is that The Nintendo Wii is the fastest selling video game system ever because of them. Not to mention that the bundles became some of the best selling software ever in the gaming industry. Therefore, they won't stop releasing new accessories anytime soon.

The Wii MotionPlus is the latest accessory experiment from Nintendo. Like the Nunchuck, it is an attachment to the Wii Remote. The capabilities are a little more subtle since the attachment simply enhances the motion capabilities of the existing Wii Remote for better accuracy.

Thanks to the cheap $19.99 price tag and numerous bundles, the Wii MotionPlus is proving to be another hugely successful product for Nintendo. In North America, the accessory is bundled with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 and the upcoming Wii Sports Resort. Speaking of which, Wii Sports Resort was already released in Japan and selling out in stores. The individual Wii MotionPlus packages are also raking in big sales in both regions.

Once Wii Sports Resort launches in North America, you can expect sales for the Wii MotionPlus to really take off. This is because the game is the sequel to the best-selling title ever in Wii Sports. Just like so many Nintendo-produced accessories before it, the Wii MotionPlus is selling like hot cakes.

Nintendo is already hard at work at their next accessory for the Nintendo Wii: the Wii Vitality Sensor. Given their rich history, you can expect the new accessory to sell tens of millions of units.
