Believe it or not, you do get exercise and burn calories by playing WII. Of course, it's not exactly the same as playing tennis on a court, but it's as close as you can get to the real thing. I have played WII tennis for the past two days and my arm is very sore now, so there is definitely a workout involved here. Whether you play on the court or in front of your television, you are still swinging your arm back and forth. You may not move as much as if you were on a court, but there is still quite a bit of movement. I was sweating profusely which is another indication that you are getting a good work out. There are different ways you can play. You can play yourself against the computer. They have people set up to play against you. You can play on a team with someone else, or against someone else in the household. I have heard people saying that they buy this because it does give them an adequate amount of exercise.
I actually like playing WII bowling better than going to a real alley. I've always found the balls to be very heavy for me to roll down the alley. This is so much more enjoyable for me. You just hold the remote, press some buttons, then swing your arm to let go of the ball.
I have tried baseball and golf a few times. If you love those sports, you will love WII golf and baseball. You really feel like you are right there playing a real game.
This disc contains a fitness section where you can play a few different sports and they test your skills. Then they give you a score and an estimate age level of your performance.
It is very easy to hit someone nearby with the remote while you are swinging. It is best to always keep the soft, plastic jacket on the remote. If you hit someone, they will feel less of the blow with the jacket on.
I just saw an advertisement for another WII Sports disc that will be coming out soon. This one included basketball. I can't wait to try that. If you don't have WII Sports, I would recommend every household having one. It's a great way to spend time and have fun with the family and it's also great for when you are entertaining guests.
