Manning is not a noble man at all. He is a traitor, and in the good old days they shot traitors. I'm down for that. It is said Manning actions were taken because he is allegedly an unhappy gay man in the military. So jeopardizing the lives of covert operatives who work for this nation is how to address that issue? Leaking diplomatic cables will somehow change his unhappiness?
Manning may be a gay man, but what he did was not out of frustration over his sexuality, or if it was he belongs in a padded room. His actions were however typical of those of someone who was trying to do long term harm by making a political statement...his manifesto of sorts. But most shocking of all is not the piss poor judgment of Manning but the relative comfort with so many on the left who are advocating for Manning's hero status.
What can be reasonably concluded about a political ideology that finds damaging the United States to be right in line with their political desires? What can we reasonably conclude about the adherents to such a position if their political desires are accepting of intentional damage to the nation? Loyal American's they would tell us. They would forward their position as one of extreme love for a nation gone wrong. Is that what Manning was doing?
What of completely unsubstantiated allegations of Manning being "tortured?" How? By being in solitary confinement? When authorities put one in protective custody they are isolated and I don't hear too much of that being called torture. In fact if a lefty were imprisoned and thrown in with the general population and then harmed by the inmates, wouldn't the "loyal left" then complain that authorities did not do enough to protect them? Jeez, one just can't please these people. It's almost as if it's, dare I say...intentional on the part of progressives.
America is at a cross roads. We've tripped the imaginary line of Democrat versus Republican, but all still American's first and foremost. No longer can we look to our left and find that we disagree in the policy actions with those who have the preservation of this nation at the top of their little list of "to do" list. Yes, progressive's "to do" list would be like reading a foreign language to most red blooded Americans.
Progressive's don't much care for anything about this nation. They have accused us of being hopeful imperialists, which considering especially the late 1940's when we held the atomic bomb alone, is an odd and completely unfounded position.
They argue American's are resource hogs who sacrifice all before the altar of consumerism and the never ending pursuit of gold, which according to them rightfully belongs to the poor men in the world. Speaking of precious commodities, consider where the mother load of diamonds has been of late - South Africa. They mine it and we buy it at world market prices.
So, how is that taking advantage of anyone? We are paying whatever it is they are charging for their mining and refining of the valuable gem. It's called "business." Oh, I forgot - progressive's believe most business is inherently evil, even when the majority Black nation in Africa is the beneficiary. Aren't American dollars going to purchase South African goods a willing "redistribution of wealth" to poorer nations by us evil, rich Americans? I thought that was a good thing? Can you say mixed messages from progressives? Blatant hypocrisy?
Let's get past the niceties of this discussion and call them what they are - radicals, subversives and those hoping for change. And that hope is not one our grandparent's would recognize or endorse, but is one born of a radical political ideology that believes destruction of this nation's traditions and foundations are the ONLY method to be employed. Read Marx and then explain the difference between Marxist ideology and the American progressive position.
Only such creatures would find a traitor to this nation to be one held up as a hero. Only such persons would gleefully do their little dance of sheer joy that the bedrock of the nation is undermined and the progressive endgame is being served to boot. Hey, it's a progressive "twofer!" Can't beat that. right?
And I as a conservative am to be ridiculed as narrow minded and evil? As having some secret agenda that removes us from our Founding? That is willing to sacrifice all in pursuit of our ideological ends? That is a ludicrous accusation. Only in the screwy mind of a progressive is it possible that those who favor strict construction of the Constitution are also, somehow inexplicably, working to destroy it. Nope, that is the exclusive territory of progressives and evidence of that fact is overwhelming in quantity and severity.
I mean, no one I know who loves this nation thinks Manning is anything other than a candidate for a firing squad.

Post a CommentWhether Bradley is a hero depends on your perspective on his actions. But he did not sell (or give) those secrets to America's enemies; he brought them into public light. He did not even try to cover up his own actions. And his actions were not committed in a time of war, which is a requirement for being tried for treason (remember, W. Bush declared the war in Iraq ended several years ago). By his intent and by definition Bradley Manning is not a traitor.
So Patricia, you were saying...? I dare you to prove I have misrepresented anything! And your tone, ie, "if you've read it" is a clear attempt at questioning my veracity as I clearly have said on more than one occasion I have read MARX!!!!!! As Reagan said, paraphrased, "How do you tell a communist? Well, it’s someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It’s someone who understands Marx and Lenin." So Madam, have you read good old Vladimir? Or for this purpose..."how can you tell an American leftist?" my answer is either one who DOES NOT grasp Marxism or one who favors it!!!!! Questions? Comments? Smarmy retorts? Let's hear it!
CONT'D...Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis; Discredit the American founding fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man"; Belittle all forms of American culture; Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press; Present homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity as "normal, natural, and healthy; Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture - education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc; Infiltrate and gain control of more unions...NOTICE key word...MORE??????
And since you WON'T go read the article I directed you to, here are a few...Promote the UN as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one world government with its own independent armed forces; Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions, by claiming their activities violate civil rights; Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for Socialism, and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of the teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks; Infiltrate the press; Break down cultural standards of morality....
As to your second comment about "Democrats support marxism." Ma'am, you know not of what you speak. You JUST said you are a progressive Democrat, no? And I have published the wish list Communists, who are Marxists first by sheer political definition as well as absolute fact, and the wishes of the Bolshevik Communist Party in 1963 have many, many, many EXACT SAME goals. Need I direct you to the article of which I speak? http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/468622/communist_goals_circa_1963.html?cat=9
Just saw your replies Trish, so lemme, one by one, address them....I did not "lump all non-Republicans" into any niche Madam. But if you deny hard and radical leftists and progressives vote Democrat, you live in a fantasy world that exists withing your own mind. Enjoy that condition Madam. And interesting that you have for the first time to my knowledge, and going DIRECTLY against your own self identification, described yourself as member of the "progressive democrats. I could go back and copy and paste a dozen or more comments form you where you swore you are not a progressive. Hmmmm. Kudos for "manning" up...get it...Bradley Manning? "Manning up?" I slay me!
"Read Marx and then explain the difference between Marxist ideology and the American progressive position." Evidently, if you've read it, you've royally misinterpreted what you read if you think any Democrats support marxism.
"Progressive's don't much care for anything about this nation." Once again, you've lumped all non-republicans into the niche of the far left who don't think this guy's a criminal. While some of what's come out because of these leaks bears examination, it doesn't justify the people who were put in danger by these leaks. Not all of us support this guy. He broke the law to the point of treason! So if you want to vilify Manning, fine, but don't use phrases that vilifiy all of us who happen to be progressive democrats. That statement I quoted is just vitriol.
Of course, he'll get the hero treatment from some, but what he did was extremely foolish, and probably out of some immature motive to boot.
I would argue the point of secret Don, in that gov't did classify many of these communications. Were they tippy, top secret? IDK, but gov't is the exclusive arbiter of such classifications and they sought to keep them secret, so secret they are. That they may not shock you or send you into a panic over what is revealed by them isn't the point Sir. Nor am I shocked by any of the info but clearly gov't sought to keep it under wraps for better or worse. As well I believe there is some validity to diplomatic comms being secret. We all know RatBoy is an ass, but I am able to use such a characterization that gov't may not be able to say in such unsophisticated language as a troll like myself might use. Government's have to keep up appearances, perhaps lending to the din of confusion, but still that is how it's done.
