Wild and Crazy Hamburger Toppings

If you are tired of serving the same old burger, you should try beefing up the burger with some unusual toppings. These toppings will add some new life to the patty of meat on a bun. And your kids will have fun experimenting with their new hamburger concoctions. You can set up a hamburger bar with your unusual toppings in small bowls and let your family create some unusual hamburgers!

Garbanzo Beans: Mash up some garbanzo bean (also known as chick peas) and add a dash of lime juice. This can be spread on top of the hamburger patty or on one side of the bun. You can also use ready made hummus if you like, but it's cheaper to just mash a can of garbanzo beans.

Walnuts: If you want a nutty hamburger with a bit of crunch, sprinkle on a spoonful of chopped walnuts.

Jelly: You can add jelly to a hamburger to give it a sweet taste. Any jelly will work fine, but grape jelly and apple jelly are two of your best bets, and there are no seeds.

Peanut Butter: You can top your hamburger with peanut butter for a robust nutty flavor. You can use it with or without the jelly.

[Chocolate Chip Pancakes]

Fried Egg: If you want a breakfast burger, plop a fried egg on top of the patty. It's absolutely delicious! You can also serve it on an English muffin or a bagel. This will soon become a breakfast favorite. But it's good any time of the day.

Syrup: A drizzle of your favorite pancake syrup is awesome on a hamburger. Try it!

Salad Dressing: You can spread any of your favorite salad dressing on your hamburger bun to give it a unique flavor. Any salad dressing is good. If you like it on your salad, you will like it on your burger!

Pineapple: Add a slice of pineapple on top of the hamburger patty and you just made a Hawaiian burger. You can also grill the pineapple slices if you want, or heat them in a frying pan. But the pineapple slices are good cold too. And they make the burger super juicy!

Mashed Potatoes: Plop a little scoop of mashed potatoes on top of the patty and chow down! This is a great way to use up leftover mashed potatoes. You can also add some gravy if you like!

Try thinking up your own wild concoctions. There are no rules when it comes to building a burger. Ask your kids to think up unusual toppings, set up a burger bar, and enjoy!
