The King and Queen of Bourbon Street: For this game, your guests place their name in 2 different hats. One hat is for the men; the other has is for the women. The winners are giving a parade where they throw beads to the crowd.
The Mardi Gras Masked Relay: In this event, masks are placed in alternative rows. When guests hear the signal, The 1st guest in each row takes the mask in both hands and passes it over his head to the other partygoers behind him. This continues till the last partygoer receives it. The Guest runs forward with it, running down the right aisle. On reaching the front seat, his entire row moves one seat backward, so as to leave an empty seat in front. The runner then sits down in the empty seat and passes the eraser backward with both hands as before stated. The changing of seats should be on the left side. The game ends when each guest is returned to his own seat.
The Mardi Gras Feather Game: Here's a game that will be a hit at any Mardi Gras Party. First, you find a big feather. Next, you get your guests to sit in a circle as closely together as possible. Then, a partygoer throws the feature up as high as he can. Those sitting in the circle must keep it from landing on them. To accomplish this task, you need to blow the feather as far away as each player can do. Any player whom it falls upon gives up points. It is almost impossible to imagine the excitement that is produced by this game when it is played with spirit, and the fun is not confined to just the players, much enjoyment is gained by the onlookers as well. To make this game more challenging, you can add another feather to game to add more fun.
Blackboard Relay: Here's a party idea you never thought of! You have your guests divided by 2 teams, and teams take turn as each player gets to write down a word relating to Mardi Gras. The team with the most acceptable words wins. Words that are not deemed acceptable have points taken from them. Keep going with it and have fun with a variety of variations. For the winner, you can give out a set of beads or even a Mardi Gras hat for the occasion.
Mardi Gras Buzz: It's one of the oldest party games during Mardi Gras. Here's how it works: The players sit in a circle and begin to count in turn, but when the number 7 or any number in which the figure 7 or any multiple of 7 is reached, they say "Buzz," instead of whatever the number may be. As, for instance, supposing the players have counted up to 12, the next player will say "13," the next "Buzz" because 14 is a multiple of 7 (twice 7)-the next player would then say "15" the next "16," and the next would, of course, say "Buzz" because the figure 7 occurs in the number 17. If one of the players forgets to say "Buzz" at the proper time, he or she is eliminated. The game then starts over again with the remaining players, and so it continues until there is but one person remaining. More players you get, the more fun you have!
