Wildblue's internet service is faster then dial-up but like any internet service providers there are complications. Some of these complications are real headaches for customers.

When the wildblue service is up and running, it is excellent service to have but when weather is bad you can forget about browsing the internet. On cloudy, rainy and snowy days, the internet will be down. When you call technical support about the issues, their response is always the same. A customer service representative will tell you there is nothing they can do and that you will have to wait until weather improves. There are times especially with snow on the satellite dish outside clearing it may help and other times it does not help.

Wildblue only has one gateway for each area one of which is in New York and when this gateway is not working properly; your internet service will not work. The customer will have to wait until the gateway is operating before services begin working. If New York is having bad weather your internet will be down too even though your weather is perfect. There have been downtimes that lasted a few hours. It can be frustrating for those who work online especially if you have deadlines to meet.

Wildblue has upgraded their billing system, which has complicated things even more. If services are interrupted for non-payment, you will have to wait 24 hours after you make a payment in order to have services restored. Before when you made a payment, services were restored right away.

Another problem with the billing system is errors in billing. Let's say your payment was made and clears but the billing system does not recognize the payment then your services are still disconnected. A customer will still have to wait the 24-hour waiting period for a billing error that was not their fault. This is not fair to the customer who had nothing to do with the billing error.

For the most part Wildblue High Speed Satellite Internet Provider is a great internet service provider but there are a few glitches they need to address because if they do not they just might lose customers who are becoming fed up with all the downtime and billing errors. When you expect to use your internet and it is not working properly, it makes the consumer look to other internet service providers other than Wildblue who offer better and more quality internet service.
