Wilderness Lakes RV Resort in Menifee, California

A Great Place to Spend Your Vacation in Your Motorhome

Kathy Anderson
Our 7 week motorhoming vacation is drawing to an end but I cannot go home without mentioning the wonderful park we spent a week at in our 34' motorhome in December of 2008. This is by-far one of my favorite places to be!

This park, Wilderness Lakes in Menifee, CA is a membership only park and part of the Naco organization. The resort is on flat terrain which is great for walking and bicycling; which I did a lot of. There are wonderful canals that wind through the park and are actually stocked with catfish. You can fish right there from your front door! The resort is in an argricultural setting with nearby dairies. Yet, only a few miles away there are lots of local stores for shopping, even a WalMart and Winco, and there are medical facilities close by.

This park has a great activites schedule. I line danced, worked jigsaw puzzles and played cards with several of the other RVers. The line dancing was very professionally taught, was easy to follow and so much fun! If you've never tried line dancing, this is the place to try it. The instructor is very patient and excellent at what she does. The little restaurant in the adult lodge has very large portions and the food is wonderful.

There is nice playground equipment, a convenience store, spas, adult lodge, teen arcade, game room, volleyball court, miniature golf and pool. WiFi is available at the adult lodge at no charge to you but there's a small fee and can be picked up at most of the sites. I know from experience, that if a motorhome drives up and sits itself right there between you and the WiFi port, connection is lost until that motorhome moves. There's also a basketball court, horsehoes, tennis, pool tables, table games, and fishing (permit required) in their canals. If you want to go off-site, there's water skiing, boating, sailing, fishing, ball fields, golfing, sightseeing and balloon rides. It's verhy family and pet friendly.

There's 6 golf courses within 15 minutes of the park. Within 1 1/2 hours fromthe park, there's the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, San Diego Animal Park, Palomar Observatory, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Spanish Missions and snow skiing!

Now that I have you eager to plan a stay at this wonderful park, here's how you do it. Reservations are required for the RV sites and rental units and may be made up to 90 days in advance through RPI's (that's Resort Parks International) Central Reservations Office. There's a two night minimum for the rentals. No reservations accepted on major holiday weekends of New Years, Martin Luther King, President's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day.

There are 519 Full sites and 6 partial sites. The maximum size of your RV is 45' long. They have 30 amps electricity, water at the sites as well as sewer. Quiet time is between 11 pm and 8am. Contact them for rental accommodations.

Contact information is Wilderness Lakes, 30605 Briggs Road, Menifee, CA 92584. Phone 951-679-4750. www.1000trails.com and wlmgr@1000trails.com

I absolutely recommend this wonderful park. The park is so big you can get a good walk in everyday. It's just wonderful with so many fun things to do. You must check out this park!
