Wildlife: Support a Charitable Cause on a Budget

JustMeof3
Animal issues aren't just limited to domestic creatures. There are many threats to wildlife as well, and several charitable groups exist to save and protect these animals and their habitats that are always in need of donations. But when your budget is tight, it can be hard to spare money to give. Fortunately, a number of ways are available which allow you to support causes that only will only cost you a little time, not extra money.

The World Wildlife Fund has been protecting the future of nature for over 45 years. WWF field staff work on projects in more than 100 countries to conserve endangered species and their habitats. The World Wildlife Fund invented and pioneered the conservation trust fund, one of the most important financial mechanisms in conservation today, and was the first conservation organization to work in China, where they have partnered with the Chinese government on panda conservation since 1979. Show your support by sending free e-cards with many different images of animals and taking action by sending letters using the forms provided by WWF. Learn more about the World Wildlife Fund on their website at http://worldwildlife.org.

Care2 is a worldwide network of over 7 million members which supports several wildlife campaigns such as seals, big cats, and primates. Their click to donate section offers an opportunity to help a variety of causes using just your mouse. Become a member to track your progress through different levels that some of the causes offer, or send an e-card for many occasions. Care2 also hosts The Petition Site which allows members to sign petitions for various causes or even create their own petition. Explore all their website offers at http://www.care2.com.

WildAid is a non-profit organization based in San Francisco with a mission to end the illegal wildlife trade. Illegal wildlife products are still openly traded in many places. WildAid's focus is to increase public support for wildlife conservation and reduce the demand for threatened and endangered species products. They offer a number of petitions to sign and banners to link to them on your website or blog. Find out more on their website at http://www.wildaid.org.

Defenders of Wildlife is a group dedicated to protecting all native wild animals and plants in their natural habitat. They are involved in several programs which encourage protection of entire ecosystems and interconnected habitats while protecting predators that serve as indicator species for ecosystem health. Their website has several opportunities to take action by sending letters by filling out forms, and even offers a checking account through Bank of America. For more information about Defenders of Wildlife, visit their website at http://www.defenders.org.

So if you'd like to help support the worthy cause of wildlife conservation but feel you just can't afford it, take a few minutes out of your day and click to donate, sign a petition, or link to sites dedicated to wildlife conservation. It only costs a few moments of your time, but can help more than you realize.
