First take the time to appreciate the herd of deer that roam freely throughout the park with you. That's right, the tame deer herd is right out there on the grounds with you. Who knows you might even get to pet one. Now no deer hunters allowed. Just kidding, you can come and visit too but please don't try to tag yourself a deer though.
The nursery is a must visit place at the wildlife park, especially if you have children. You don't need to have children though if you are just a baby animal lover yourself. At the nursery you can see a wide range of baby animals such as a baby bear, raccoon, porcupine, ferret, cavy, skunk and so many more. The staff is there to introduce you to all the baby animals. To get real up close and personal with the baby animals, stick around and help out with their bottles at feeding time.
Wildwood Wildlife Park offers some really interesting discovery programs for all ages. The programs include child participation and teach about diet, habitat and behavior. Learn about mammals, reptiles, bird, and primates at one of these excellent discovery programs. They also host a great Explore and Learn area.
Love to fish? Well at Wildwood Wildlife Park you don't need a fishing license. You can fish for trout in their pond and only pay for what you catch. Not only can you fish but they will also clean your catch and bag them on ice for you. Don't spend all day fishing though, because there is so much to see and do here.
Take a ride on the Adventure Boats for some great sight seeing. The boat rides will take you past Native American dwellings, a beaver house and realistic figures of bear, alligator and snakes. There are a lot more surprises that their website will not tell you about and neither will I. So if you want to know what all you will see on an adventure boat ride you will need to come visit and take your own boat ride.
The wildlife park also includes areas for viewing bobcats, timber wolf, mountain lion, black bear, zebra, exotic birds and even a primate and reptile educational center. Visiting the Wildwood Wildlife Park is an all day adventure, offering so much more than a traditional zoo experience. The hours of operation are from 9 am daily from May 1st till around mid October.
