Wilko Milk Chocolate Eclairs Review

Sophie Spyrou

Éclairs are a decadent way to end a meal, with a rich chocolate icing and oozing fresh cream. If you like the taste of fresh éclairs, you will enjoy Wilko Milk Chocolate Éclairs.

Price and Availability

I recently purchased a 200g bag of Wilko Milk Chocolate Éclairs from Wilkinson's for 40p. They are usually priced at 70p, but I bought them while they were on sale from the confectionery department.

Product Description

Wilko Milk Chocolate Éclairs are made with dairy toffee and contain a milk chocolate centre. According to Wilko, this product is not suitable for nut allergy sufferers, as it contains milk and soya products. But it is suitable for vegetarians and does not contain any artificial colours or flavours.

Nutrition Information

Each 50g serving of Wilko Milk Chocolate Éclairs contains 242kcal, 1.1g protein, 37.1g carbohydrate, of which 36.3g are sugars, 5.4g saturated fat, 0.8g fibre, 0.02g sodium, and 0.05g equivalent sodium.

Wilko Milk Chocolate Éclairs is not a diet food. If you are looking for a healthy snack, you will need to keep looking, as this product is high in fat, sugar and calories. According to guideline daily amounts, each serving of sweets provides you with around one eighth of your daily calories, over a third of your sugar serving, one seventh of your saturated fat and one twelfth of your salt content.

Ingredients

Wilko Milk Chocolate Éclairs is made from glucose syrup, sugar, milk chocolate, full cream sweetened condensed milk, vegetable oil, water and other ingredients. Many of the ingredients are sugar-based.

Taste Test

Wilko Milk Chocolate Éclairs are sweet, creamy and actually quite tasty. I was expecting a hard toffee, with a soft centre, but the toffee was quite soft. What was a bit annoying was how the toffee stuck to my teeth. If you have dental problems or wear dentures, you may have trouble eating these!

Recommendation

I was drawn to Wilko Milk Chocolate Éclairs for two reasons. First, the price could not be beat, and second, I needed a quick sugar rush at the time I purchased them, which is why I decided to give them a try. Although I do not plan to regularly indulge in Wilko Milk Chocolate Éclairs due to the high fat, sugar and calorie content, I would recommend them as an occasional snack.
