Will Associated Content Become the Next Big Search Engine?

Daniel Rein
Google. Yahoo. MSN. AOL...Associated Content? Huh? Google and Yahoo are by far the two biggest search engines in America that the people use as a homepage and to search for the latest breaking news, politics, sports and gossip about celebrities. Is Associated Content the next big thing? Can Associated Content be the next big thing?

Do you remember when Google and Yahoo stock was only a couple of bucks? I sure do. The makers of Yahoo and Google were not much older than college kids. The makers of Google dropped out of Stanford University with a dream to build a search engine. That dream has come true along with the dream of making millions on the web. Google is constantly becoming better and better as it takes only a few seconds to find what you are looking for. Results on Google are listed by relevant keywords. The question is, can Associated Content break through from the herd of internet websites and become truly great? The answer is filled with uncertainty.

If you think about all of the online scams and internet shopper bogus things you have ever received, most people get turned off by the idea of a website that tells you they will give you money. In fact, the number of internet sites that profess to pay writers money is often not true. In fact, if you look at the section in the AC community entitled "Other online gigs" most of those site that pay for written articles require an interview from you and require certain qualifications like a degree in journalism or experience writing for a newspaper or magazine in order to make money writing for them. Associated Content doesn't require any of that. As a college student, I have made a nice size amount of money to pay some bills and I'm not even an English major in college. AC is unique because they are the only site that doesn't require writers to have any qualifications and they pay you good money.

As many fellow content producers ask me, "how it is that AC can afford to pay writers for writing articles?" The answer is simply in that AC takes advantage of mutually beneficial relationship with its writers. The more articles that people write the more traffic and page views that the Associated Content site gets. The more page views a website gets the more advertising money it gets as companies see that they can reach out to larger numbers of internet surfers through advertising. That is how Yahoo and Google make their money: through advertising. As long as new viewers on AC increase and the site's traffic and page views increase, Associated Content will be able to pay writers for their articles and sponsor contests like gift certificates for clout and the new AC Media Awards which is awarding the best content producers in each category $500.

The jump though that Associated Content must make from just another writing site to a major mass search engine is difficult but Associated Content is on the right path. Associated Content is practicing smart business by putting money from profits from advertising back into their company through their payments to content producers. This takes the place of advertising for AC because content producers refer their friends and family to the site. As people are seeing that AC is really legit and not a scam, more and more people are spending their time writing and submitting articles for payment to get money. As more people go to the AssociatedContent.com website instead of Yahoo or Google, users look up breaking news on AC instead of Google or yahoo. In fact, stock might even be issued if the AC Company gets large enough. In addition, the discussion boards foster a relationship over the web by people who all have common interests of writing and making money. When people post comments, they come back to the AC site to see if their question was responded to, creating more page views for AC. It could take several years for AC to establish itself as a big time website that will be recognized by viewers throughout the nation, but for right now, AC is on the path toward that dream that I'm sure its founders and content editors have.

Ironic I found your article, as I was wondering the same about AC. Good work!
