Jennifer Grey is in the lead, but is Bristol Palin on Dancing with the Stars the one to watch?

Jennifer Grey of Dirty Dancing fame danced an emotional waltz with her partner Derek Hough. It was reminiscent of when Grey danced with her late co-star Patrick Swayze. But as heartfelt as the performance was, will Grey win it all?

It will be surprising if Margaret Cho or The Hoff make it to the end, but what about Bristol Palin? Here is a girl who went into Dancing with the Stars professing to wear the "most modest outfits." Although admirable for a teen who speaks professionally on "pregnancy prevention, abstinence, faith and life," does it mean Bristol has to wear potato sacks? Sarah Palin should be proud of her daughter. Even though Bristol stripped to a sexy red dress, the dress didn't expose cleavage or her stomach. It did expose lots of leg, but isn't that part of the art of dance? What's important is that once Palin removed the gray suit, she loosened up.

Day one was a good showing for Bristol Palin and her partner Mark Ballas. Their scores landed them in the middle of the pack and put them in a comfortable position. Bristol was nervous, and that is expected for a girl who was recently working as a receptionist in Alaska and who has no experience with dance or show business. I'm "just a regular girl," says Bristol on Dancing with the Stars. And rumors that Bristol is a diva seemed nothing more than rumors. If Bristol can continue to shed the nerves and have fun, we may be in for a treat.
