Will Conan O'Brien Rip into TBS Executives like He Did with the NBC Big Wigs?

Connan O'Brien - the More Obnoxious , the More Ratings

Roz Zurko
Conan O'Brien's new late night talk show will kick off in November on TBS, he will light up the late night with his uncanny humor once again.

The name of the show, is Conan O'Brien, which is not any more or any less than it needs to be. O'Brien left his NBC late night spot on a disparaging note and with nothing but disdain for the network. Some say he had every right to feel the way he did about the network.

O'Brien made no bones about having no love lost for the power players upstairs over at NBC. He made his zingers towards the executives even while he was still sitting in the chair they owned. He did this even before he was made aware of his demise at that network.

If there ever was a man to push his employer's buttons, it is O'Brien. He had a "no holes barred" approach while on his late night show at NBC. He had crossed over the line many times when it came to putting his NBC employers down under the umbrella of comedy.

This was one saving grace for O'Brien, he could rationalize his inappropriate remarks about NBC and the people who were his bosses by claiming it was a joke. Much of his comments were done in a joking manner, but there was most likely truth behind much of what he was saying.

The obnoxious O'Brien really let loose in his last few weeks at NBC and according to Time Magazine, it was a surprise that NBC let it go on the way it did with the insults flying. That was then and this is now.

What will Conan be like with his new employers, the people at TBS? Even more importantly how far are far are they letting O'Brien go before they start to corral his words?

Part of O'Brien's entertainment value is the quick witted put downs he has given to his bosses at NBC over the years. When he started really knocking NBC down before his departure, the ratings went up and almost doubled according to Time.

The appeal to this is easy, everyone could empathize with Conan's treatment from NBC. They pulled their old bosses out of their memories and put themselves in O'Brien's place. O'Brien was talking for the country, every man and women who ever had a tough boss felt a bit of revenge watching O'Brien take down the executives.

How will O'Brien handle the insults to his new bosses? Will they take into consideration the gigantic jump in ratings O'Brien brought in because he was chastising his bosses at NBC? They may and let Conan just do what he pleases, because after all it is ratings that this game is all about.
