Will Conan's New Show Be Called Conaw?

Messy Handwriting Mistake Creates Potential New TV Show Name for Conan O'Brien

Nancy Tracy
If you see the name Conaw advertised for Conan O'Brien's new show, it's not a typo. The quirky talk show host handwrote the name of his new show on a low-tech YouTube video (see Conaw video here) this morning, scribbling the name for his new show, Conan, on a sheet of paper. Whether due to haste or sloppy penmanship, the final "N" came out looking like a "W," so the show is already being comically hyped as "Conaw" on some websites.

Headliners jumped on Conan's quirky new name:
--From NPR: 'Conaw' Debuts On TBS November 8 : Blog Of The Nation
--From E online: Drum Roll, Please...CoCo Announces Name of New Show (Conaw, Anybody?)

What does Conaw mean?

Meanwhile, with all the attention he is getting for his accidental new name, Conan O'Brien could be tempted to change the actual name of his show to Conaw, or Wanoc spelled backwards. However, he should first be aware that CONAW is already in use as an acronym. According to the website, Acronym Geek, CONAW means Control Of Noise At Work. This coincidence is ironic since many younger people, who don't subscribe to cable, may end up watching Conan's new show on their computers at work instead of analyzing spreadsheets or performing other nuisance tasks and will likely have to employ a CONAW strategy, such as pressing their computer's mute button, when their managers walk by.

You say Conan, I see Conaw

Ultimately, it could be a smart move for Conan O'Brien to change his new show's name to Conaw since Conaw sounds even more peculiar than Conan, an advantage that could increase the comedian's weirdness quotient and futher endear him to fans. The important thing is for Conan to stick to comedy instead of medicine since illegibly scrawled handwritten prescription were one of the main causes of prescription drug errors prior to the widespread use of electronic prescriptions.

yeah Leno's the "noise at work (that no one listens to)" -- I hate that Conana had to leave NBC, but eah, what are you going to do. i also bet that scribble mistake wasn't a mistake at all!

If he's really strange, he'll use Wanoc! Or maybe the "Whos oneL" (the reverse of the Leno Show!)
