In my (stupid) attempt to go from black to blonde hair, my hair began to dry out, and fry out every time I decided to try to add a lighter color. I knew that if I didn't begin buying products to repair my hair, that breakage would be extreme. I spent tons of money buying name brand hair repair treatments and masks, and finally came across a repair conditioner that seems to repair my hair more and more with each and every use. Go figure, it was also the lowest price hair repair treatment in the mix.
It is called Cortex Repair Formula Conditioner, and I picked it up on a random shopping trip at Marshall's. I always seem to find weird brands that I had never heard of at Marshall's, and this Cortex brand was no exception. It sounded like what I would need though, a deep conditioning treatment to repair my damaged hair. For $7.99 I figured I would just buy it, as everything else I had been using religiously was nearly empty, and I was running out of treatments. My hair, still clearly ached for help.
Scent:
I did not really care what this conditioner smelled like, all I wanted it to do was help fix my hair, add some moisture, shine, and bring it back to life. However for those wondering, Cortex Repair Formula smells really good, it's got this perfumed musk like scent to it, that is not heavy or overbearing. I liked it a lot though, and actually wished it was a little stronger.
The scent though does not remain once you rinse out the conditioner.
Anything Good Come of It? The one thing I disliked about this conditioner was the bottles pump dispenser. This conditioner is pretty thick, and when you press down on the pump to get some of the conditioner out, it does not come out very fast, and it is difficult coming out. You really have to sit there for a minute or 2 just pressing the pump down to get a fair amount of the conditioner into your palm to finally use it. I wished they would have just plopped this one into a squeeze bottle, as it would have saved me time, and aggravation.
The plus side to this formula though is that it works, and it works well. The first time using it my hair was definitely softer and more moisturized than what it had been prior. My hair still needed help, and the second time using this conditioner seemed to repair it even more.
With each use, Cortex Repair Formula Conditioner was improving my hair. The dry brittle feeling was replaced with softness, moisture, and shine.
3 uses in, and my hair is nearly back to normal.
Overall:
If you fried your hair, as badly as I managed to, then you will definitely want to pick up a bottle of this conditioner. Your hair will thank you for using this one.
