Will the Demand for Higher Education Mean an End for Religion?

Why Some Religions Maybe Shaking in Their Boots

With the extreme demand for higher education some religions may find themselves wondering if they will continue to exist. With a focus on technology and science, space travel and environmentalism, will the religions of the world disappear? Not all of them. Some religions may find themselves obsolete as children and young adults are forced to obtain higher education to secure a career path for their future, others will thrive just as they have in the past.

One of the biggest concerns for the major religions of the world is how to cope with the advancements of society, culture and science, specifically what will happen to them when the truth of the past becomes public knowledge. Beliefs based in lies are on the way out. Provable evolution and historical inaccuracies are coming back to haunt the Judeo-Christian world in a way they never thought possible.

The once-held belief that God gave us this world to pillage and plunder is now giving way to environmentally conscious religions. The once inferior woman is now the powerful leader thanks to self-esteem teachings that young girls receiving in schools. The religions that survived the centuries of massacre are now gaining popularity. The only thing left for these Judeo-Christian religions to do is the thing that they fought so hard not to teach: EVOLVE.

The faith of the religion will not be affected as much as the organization that governs it. People will still continue to keep the belief that there is a higher power, that there is an afterlife. With the constant scandal and the questioning patrons, how will the church survive? More and more people are now embracing earth-based religions, especially women. Natural and holistic medicine is on the rise and the eco-friendly lifestyle is becoming more appealing.

It's like going back in time, when the world was once run by the earth-based religions. The more women that are self-confident and educated, the more men that become "green", and the more children and families watching the world evolve around them and become Science Digest readers, the less of a place there is for the Judeo-Christian religious beliefs. No, not all religions are going to become extinct, but some certainly will if they don't restructure their organizations.

While higher education may be the catalyst for the impending breakdown of religion, it is not the cause. History that was previously suppressed or inaccessible in the past is more available not just to scholars but to the general public as well. Scholars who are interested in subjects that aren't very well known or understood compile information, write a book, and spur on the interest in the true history of an event. Most of these types of publications are adding to the demise of the Judeo-Christian religions.

When the Church decided to bury the pagan and earth-based religions and cover them up with their own religion, they didn't anticipate that the religion that they had forced to convert wouldn't die completely. They also didn't count on their dirty little secrets getting out. The education isn't the problem, the religion is.

Aided by education, the true history of things has caused the proverbial chickens to come home to roost for the Church. They can blame it on education, homosexuality, witchcraft, children's books, evolution, pre-marital sex, or the devil but the fall of their religion will be caused by no one but themselves. The faith will live on but the organization will fall.

Good riddance, that's what I say...and you are right, the fundamentalists and evangelicals fear science and knowledge more than anything else...they would rather prop up an illicit presidency over face true knowledge, as long as they can keep feeling self-righteous..
