Will Donald Trump's Military Deferments Hurt His Chances for a White House Run

Shirley Norling
It was revealed that Donald Trump, a possible presidential candidate in 2012 is now joining the ranks of 3 other presidential hopefuls, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney and Mitch Daniels, who all received deferments that would allow them from not having to serve in the military. Will this new information have any affect on a chance for a White House run that Donald Trump has been hinting at is yet to be seen.

The fact that Mr. Trump told the press, when it was brought up, that he didn't have to go into the military because he had high draft number could be where the negative factor may come into play. Instead of revealing the medical deferment as well as some student deferments he got because he was attending college, Mr.Trump chose to lead the public into thinking it was his high draft number that was the reason why he didn't have to serve his country in the military.

Recently being so adamant about forcing President Obama to show his birth certificate and claiming he was proud of the fact that he got Mr. Obama to that, could now possibly backfire for Mr. Trump. For weeks he was trying to get the public to believe that Mr. Obama wasn't being truthful about being born in Hawaii. He was trying to convince the world that Mr. Obama was actually born in Kenya and therefore should not be president of the United States.

These newly revealed records from the selective service that show Donald Trump got a medical deferment contradict the high draft number theory that he wanted us all to believe and only makes him look like the, "not telling the truth guy", he was trying to say President Obama was by not showing the birth certificate Trump wanted to see. The selective service records were released with a copy of a signed registration card by Mr. Trump in 1964.

Donald Trump, the billionaire businessman that he is, has been highly successful in a number of endeavors he has tried over the years. From his Celebrity Apprentice Television Show to the world of real estate and business, he has done pretty much everything he's ever wanted to do. He's got an ego bigger then most, and a month that goes with it. Obviously it has taken where he's wanted to go his entire life, with very stumbling blocks along the way.

One wonders if this latest little "fib" of Mr. Trump's could have an affect on some of his future plans or if he'll just continue on his merry way, stepping on any toes that may get in his way while trying to reach the top. Only time will tell, I guess. I have found in this life that what goes around usually comes around.

Ha ha to what Abby said. Someone should "force" Trump to tell the truth about his real hairline!

I honestly don't think he is going to run...this is all fluff on his part, and I don't mean the part on his head!
