Will Drinking Veggie Juice Help You Lose Weight?

Judy Sims
This is an honest report, after having experienced it myself and seeing the pounds just fall off my daughter without her even trying.

A couple years ago, I purchased Jack LaLanne's Power Juicer. My daughter fell in love immediately. Only recently, however, have we truly been caught up in juicing for nutrition.

What I can tell you is that you can't possibly eat all the vegetables, that you can get through the juice. Half a glass fills me up and I can't take another swallow. It's so satisfying, I no longer snack between meals. I just plain don't need it and I'm not hungry for hours.

After approximately 2 months of daily juicing instead of eating a sandwich or salad for lunch, my daughter began to complain about her pants no longer fitting her. Then she realized she was losing little pockets of fatty tissue along her upper thighs.

She throws everything imaginable into that juicer: carrots, grapes, apples, oranges, lettuce, squash, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, parsley, all sorts of herbs and the list goes on. The only things we've found that don't juice very well, are those thing that are pulpy instead of juicy. Things like bananas.

Thinking we could add a little bit of natural immunity, we decided to throw in an onion. My advice is not to do that. A little goes a long way.

You can make some of the most delicious juices, simply by using your own juicer and adding sweet combinations along with the healthy. Believe it or not, squash is one of our favorites.

Personally, I wouldn't suggest a store bought, packaged juice simply because of the food value. The longer it takes from garden to stomach, the lower the food value.

After realizing how much weight my daughter is losing at a constant rate, I doubt you could talk her out of her daily juice intake. Every other day, she juices enough to last 2 days. Talk about lunch on the go, there's nothing better or more satisfying.

I'm in my 60's and not all that concerned about weight. I also have a hard time eating enough to keep this body going, but with the daily juice, I've got it covered.

I would strongly advise fresh juice for anyone and especially if weight is a concern.
