This week's top movie at the box office was "Blades Of Glory", which took in an estimated $33 million dollars. The movie stars Will Farrell and John Heder is a movie about ice skating. Of course it's not exactly a documentary, as it is a humorous look at two male skating partners who team up after they are banished from the Olympics individual skating categories to to an unfortunately incident involving a fight and a burning mascot. The movie is considered a success for Farrell, but did not take in as much in it's first weekend as another of the movies he was in. That movie was "Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby", which earned $47 million in it's first weekend of release last summer. Costarring in Blades Of Glory was John Heder who is best known for his rate in the hit movie "Napoleon Dynamite".

The second place movie this week was the film "Meet The Robinsons" from Disney. The film is an animated feature that is about a lonely orphan. What makes this orphan different is that he is brilliant, and goes on a time traveling adventure. This move had two different versions out in the market. The movie is unique from it's competitors, one was the standard two dimensional film and the other was a 3-D version of the film. It was estimated that the 3-D version which was playing at 600 theaters pulled in roughly twice as much money as the 2-D version. Last week's number film featured a group of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The movie is based on a cartoon series originally created in the 80's but is currently shown on television with a new modern version. The movie "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle" dropped into fourth place with only an estimated 9.2 gross this weekend, which is down sharply from it's debut last week with a 24.3 gross revenue. Rounding out the top five were "300", which finished in third this weekend , and "Wild Hogs" which claimed the number five spot in this weekend's rankings.

None of the movies this week at the theaters matched the success of last year's Ice Age: The Meltdown, which grossed close to $68 million in it's first week. Overall, this week's movies were down 13% from the same weekend last year which saw a gross income of $112 million at that time. Despite that fact, movie theater's are reporting a 4% increase so far this year in revenue compared to last year at this time.
