Will it Be a Happy Christmas for Pacquiao and the Filipinos?

Will Manny Win Over Dela Hoya?

posh_post
Filipino boxing idol and people's champ Manny Pacquiao has already left California (where he was training) a few days ago for California, where he is set to fight Boxing Golden Boy Oscar de la Hoya in a Dream Match on December 6, 2008 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao remains undefeated in a series of high profile fights abroad already. But he admits that this Dream Match is his toughest so far, as not only is dela Hoya a worthy opponent, but that Pacquiao also needs to gain weight in order to reach the Welterweight Division.

Dela Hoya vows to avenge the Mexican boxers that went down because of Pacquiao's fist. Pacquiao is the current World Boxing Council's lightweight king. Boxing watchers predict that this will not be an easy fight. Both parties have advantages and disadvantages. Dela Hoya is 4 inches taller at 5 foot 10, but Pacquiao has the advantage of being younger and more agile. He is 6 years junior at 29 years old. If ever, this will be De La Hoya's farewell fight and Pacquiao's biggest ever.

Will it be a happy Christmas for Pacquaio and the rest of the Filipino people who are rooting for him? Oh I really hope so. I am a Filipino and rooting for Manny (not betting). I just want him to win because of Filipino pride. But as the big fight is nearing, I am getting scared for him.

We will know tomorrow.
