Classic stories and books stand the test of time. They're noteworthy and exemplary. They're the books we hand down from generation-to-generation. We read them as children in school and they live long in our memories. They make us laugh and cry, and enrich our minds. They take us on amazing journeys and open our hearts to lovable characters. They leave us deep in thought and teach us life lessons. They are admired and treasured, forever, and leave a footprint on our hearts and in our minds.

And, now there's Harry Potter. J.K. Rowling's books have made a remarkable impact on children by driving a strong desire to read and even reread these stories with passion and interest. With Harry Potter, there was a reason to read. As we became Harry Potter fans, we also became a community of readers.

In 20 years, will children embrace these amazing books as children, and even adults, have today? Will it have the same universal appeal? J.K. Rowling has for sure succeeded in creating a fantastical world and a trend that will see a long shelf-life. It is definitely a phenomenon that will live on in the list of classic books that have won both children's and adult's hearts. Harry Potter set a unique trend of children, teenagers, and adults reading the same books. It has universal appeal. Rowling hit a stroke of genius by letting her books mature along with her characters. Childlike wonder, adolescent anxiety and adult complexity have given the series immense popularity among a widespread audience. Harry Potter is this generation's classic fantasy. Popularity alone does not make a book a classic. But, Harry Potter has been applauded by the literary world. Time will tell if it's still the favorite among children of future generations. Regardless, Harry Potter will live forever, in our hearts and minds.
