The Ex

If the ex calls him at a seemingly innocent time, sends a casual text message, or maybe writes a harmless email here and there, whatever the case may be, she may be drawing him in like a whirlwind. If he isn't over her, he may take the bait. The bottom line - there may still be some feelings of love over his ex. Sometimes, this bond is tough to crack.

What Kind of Breakup Was It?

Was it mutual or something not amicable? If it wasn't amicable, it's a good chance this may not be an issue. If it was one of those mutual things or one had to move away from the other, feelings could linger. If a question arises in your mind, at a comfortable time, you may want to tacitly ask if things are over with his ex indefinitely. You can't be guaranteed a straight answer, but at least you put it out there.

The Past

The intimacy with his ex was particularly memorable. Keeping this G-rated, I pause here for a moment because I cannot sacrifice not letting you in on a difficult truth. With that said, a guy tends to be a sucker for a good thing, especially if it was the guy that messed things up and regret sets in.

One question may clear this up. How long ago was the break up? Is her number still in his phone? Is her picture still on his screen saver? If yes, it may be safe to say she's not out of his memory. He realizes there was much more in common with his ex than you have with him. There isn't much you can do about this one because this really comes from the perspective of the guy. Chances are he won't admit he feels better off with his ex than you. Whether it's chemistry, life goals, hobbies -- comparatively speaking, he feels better with his ex.

He could be trying to play you and the ex at the same time. Whether he doesn't want to commit to just one person or he has no clue what he wants, the harsh truth indicates that he doesn't want to commit to you entirely. Whatever the reason, you may not have his heart 100 percent.
