Will Healthcare Reform Further Divide America?

Healthcare in America has and always will be a problem. Although there are some people that act as if healthcare is a sacred word that cannot be openly discussed, yet that is not the case. Healthcare reform is definitely an issue that is causing further division in America.

Recently the U.S. House of representatives passed the healthcare reform bill. Since it was comprised by lawmakers it has been subjected to heavy criticism. The bickering has come from both sides of the political aisle. It is ashamed that the Democrats voted with their hearts instead of their heads. Republicans on the other hand refused to cross the barrier of partisanship by not supporting the bill because it was authored by Democrats. Most Americans have no idea about the contents of the actual bill. It is ludicrous to pass a bill and then try to educate everyone on what it is about. In many cases the American government banks on its citizens lack of political procedure. Since the bills passing there have been several senseless acts of violence against politicians both Democrat and Republican. There have been bricks thrown through windows, coffins placed in people's yards, and threats on family members. This is terrible! People have also assembled along the highways and byways in their associated groups protesting healthcare reform. There are beating a dead horse because the bill has passed! Let's move on focusing on other problems facing this country. America is in a serious state of disarray! We cannot afford to let anything divide us.

Healthcare is an ongoing issue. The U.S. House of Representatives have voted and passed the Healthcare reform bill. Whether we agree with the bill or not it has been passed. We are wasting our time arguing about a matter that is no longer up for discussion. As Americans as we have done so well in the past, we must adapt and overcome. It is imperative that we no longer focus on the things that divide us but we should focus on the things that unites us. If we do not do this our country will continue to be divided and it will put us further behind.
