Will Hurricane Igor Hit Land on Bermuda, East Coast of USA, or Canada?

Hurricane Igor is now a Category 4 hurricane with winds of up to 135 miles per hour. It is now over the Atlantic Ocean and it is unknown if it will come over land in Bermuda, the East Coast of USA or Canada, notes MSNBC and Wunderground.

Hurricane Igor: 4^th Hurricane of Atlantic Coast Season 2010

Igor has the intensity to cause major damage should it move over land. The 2010 hurricane season is full steam ahead already as October approaches. Hurricane Igor is the fourth hurricane of the 2010 Atlantic hurricane season.

As of Sunday afternoon, Hurricane Igor is located at about 1,120 miles due east of the Leeward islands in the Caribbean. It is moving at about 14 miles per hour, notes the U.S. National Hurricane Center.

Will Hurricane Igor Approach Category 5?

MSNBC reports that Hurricane Igor could gain strength to get up to just a bit lower than a Category 5 hurricane, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center.

It is hoped that Hurricane Igor will not enter the Gulf of Mexico area, where it could greatly impact the oil and fishing industries there. The highly populated East Coast region of the USA also waits and worries to see if this Hurricane will impact the area.

The Ocean May Become Dangerous as Hurricane Igor Approaches

As Hurricane Igor approaches do not go swimming unless there are lifeguards on the beach. Any hurricane approaching typically creates very dangerous riptides and rough seas.

Swimming or surfing is very dangerous anytime a hurricane is approaching. Use caution. A great wave is not worth risking your life over.
